Beautiful estate but worth investing in aircon
9.0Beautiful estate, nice walks, good river view
− You can’t actually go down to the river bank from the estate, big detour required; also our room didn’t have aircon so it was rather hot
Love to come back when it’s updated and back to its former glory and standards.
6.0Beautiful historical building. We have been a few times many years ago to stay, eat and use the spa.
− It was unfortunately very tired. Stained fabrics, dirty paintwork, damaged cushions ( with stuffing poking out) dirty cobwebby windows on the terrace. The grounds were very well maintained and beautiful. The views from the terrace are stunning. Staff were pleasant some incredibly helpful. The food I ordered for lunch was barely edible. A bizarre overly toasted club sandwich and my husband had chicken tenders with a trio of sauces ( blue cheese, hot sauce and another) that he assumed would come in separate portions but were slathered all over the chicken.. very strange taste profile, my husband ate them because he will eat most things!! It also took 35 minutes to arrive and it wasn’t busy.
