4.0I recently stayed at Protea Klerksdorp with my kids, and sadly, our experience was far from satisfactory. While the hotel grounds were well-maintained and visually appealing, the issues with cleanliness and service overshadowed this positive aspect. Our room was not cleaned thoroughly—makeup brushes from previous guests were still on the floor. This made me question the overall hygiene of the space. Our biggest challenge was the noise. Other guests held a loud party directly in front of our room until 2:30 AM, and despite the disturbance, there was no staff intervention to address it. It made for a sleepless and stressful night, especially with kids. The restaurant experience was equally frustrating. We ordered a Hawaiian pizza for the kids, but what arrived was chicken with chili sauce. When I questioned the staff, they claimed they had added pineapple to the dish to make it "Hawaiian." Such a response was not only unhelpful but also dismissive of the mistake. The food quality overall was subpar and disappointing. While the well-kept grounds showed potential, the lack of proper housekeeping, disregard for guest comfort, and unacceptable dining experience make it impossible for me to recommend this hotel to families or anyone seeking a relaxing stay.
