Lovely hotel!
10.0Excellent location, great atmosphere, hotel room exceptionally clean, very friendly efficient and helpful staff. Had a lovely stay.
Excellent stay.
10.0This is a great hotel. Perfectly located, buses run past the hotel and just a short walk to the Sliema ferry terminal. Efficient check-in, got both our phones connected to the wi-fi before we went to our room. Opened in 1969. Not part of a chain, but seems to retain a "family" atmosphere. Very helpful, with taxis etc. We had a room at the back. No view, but this was not important for this trip and it was very quiet, despite the hotel being full. Nice bar, for before and after dinner drinks. A really excellent restaurant, although the tables were very close to one another and it was very busy. The hotel should consider staggering times to spread out the load. Having said that, the food was always very good. The seafood starter selection was the best I've seen. Several "national" nights varied what was on offer. Very good dessert choice, with things on offer we'd not come across before. Good, friendly staff, well-managed and we liked the limited wine selection (menu left on table) which included good, not expensive Maltese wines. Also brought quickly. Our particular compliments to these staff, who made our stay enjoyable. Recommended.
A fantastic experience
10.0Fantastic hotel. Staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Nothing was ever a bother to them. Rooms were recently refurbished and were beautiful. The rooftop bar was stunning too and had an amazing view of the city. Food was a different theme each night from Maltese to Mexican and it was always great with plenty of variety. Hotel was in a very good location in Sliema , close to Valetta and ferry terminal. Will definitely return to this hotel in the future..
Pros and Cons of our All inclusive stay at the PreLuna Hotel.
6.0Pros of Preluna: * Helpful staff * Good location * Received 3 vouchers upon arrival * Cleaning staff very attentive and will clean room every day * Free use of Mini Fridge and safe in the room * Meals have a theme each night, so do provide different tastes * lounge bar staff very good - shout out the Gorgio * Sky bar NOT ALL INCLUSIVE but Absolutely amazing! * Massage and spa treatments were good and well priced. Bianca made me feel comfortable and relaxed the whole way though. * WiFi is provided through the entire hotel * Rooms were spacious, and had a balcony. Bath & Shower provided. Bed was comfortable. * Upon checkout, Hotel will keep luggage and continue on with the All Inclusive until Transfer arrives. Also provide access to pool, showers etc Cons of Preluna * Voucher which you receive upon arrival offer very little choice ( especially for those with dietary requirements) * Outdoor pool is seasonal only ( May to Oct) was not made aware of this until arrived * Snacks which are advertised at the lounge bar, do not exist ( we asked Multiple times and were met with clueless faces and shakes of heads) * Buffet for Meals is extremely limited, there is a theme every night ( Mexican, Oriental, Maltese, Mediterranean, Arabian, Italian) and Allergen labels are not reliable. * Lunch is even more limited. Almost no one is there (guests or staff) and food options consisted of a pasta, Pizza and chips. *Lounge bar has limited options for all inclusive if you do not want to pay. E.g €5 for a Guinness or €10 for a sparkling French martini *On going Major construction on the building ( or close by ) started at 7am with drilling noises and cranes. - We were advised of this but were told it was minor. * Downstairs pool is very small, underground, and very cholrine-y. Couldn’t fit more than 10 people there comfortably. * Evening entertainment only on Fri, Sat & Sun (or a specific holiday) * Seating by the lounge bar is limited but seats are comfortable. * Though bed was comfortable, was 2 singles pushed together with a Double mattress on top. * Towels could have been Bigger, possibly need to bring your own Bath sheet if you are slighter larger as the towels provided are slightly small. * Would have been nice for a Robe or Slippers in the room too * Hotel Tv was dismal. Barely any channels and no way to connect your own phone/ tablet.
Mouldy bathroom (see pictures)
6.0The bathroom was super old and tired and mouldy. Location good if you want to be in the center of Sliema and views good
Nice hotel, shame about building work next door
8.0We arrived at midnight so missed out on a welcome drink and dinner but were able to have lunch on another day as part of the half board package. The food choices were very good with a different theme every day but the dining room was very cramped and felt a bit like a school dining room. There is a small outside eating area adjoining the main dining room overlooking the bay but as it was very windy it was only possible to eat there one morning. We had a room at the back with a balcony overlooking buildings and a building site. The room was very hot and even with the heating turned off and the fan on it was quite uncomfortable. We were told it was still winter (daytime temperature was around 16c!) and therefore the air conditioning was not in use. We ended up having to sleep with the balcony door open. We stayed for a week and had 5 days of pretty relentless building noise, mainly a very loud jackhammer and in the evenings there appeared to be a generator going until about 9.45pm. The room was clean and comfortable, the bathroom was clean but very basic toiletries and small towels; we were told bathrobes weren't available for use in the spa. The spa consisted of a gym which we didn't use, a small indoor pool which was cool,a small jacuzzi,a sauna and a steam room. It felt quite cramped, there weren't many loungers and the changing facilities were disappointing.
