Bitter disappointment
4.0What an underwhelming high tea experience, certainly not what you would expect from such a magnificent mansion. The only benefit was the free flowing prosecco, but that was it. The sandwiches were dry, the hot food didn't come out at the beginning but when the sweets were nearly finished and they were lukewarm. The vegetarian and vegan options were lacking in savoury and sweet but charged the $99. Certainly not value for money. The gardens are worth a wander through.
Avoid if you want to rest and relax
2.0Shocking, came for a night away to escape enjoy the gardens. Instead the music for a wedding they are holding is blaring and will not be wrapped up until 1145. Dirty room, wet floors, noisey and overpriced. Definitely would suggest avoiding. Not impressed at all. Couldn’t even enjoy the gardens due to the weddings. Very disappointed
Mansion Hotel, peaceful oasis
8.0Beautiful building in magnificent surroundings. Lovely helpful staff. Great breakfast. The bedrooms are a bit disappointing, they are in the newer building and quite dark and a bit old fashioned. Ours overlooked the dusty car park. We paid extra for superior, so we're surprised at this. Very comfortable bed and decent quality bed linen. The swimming pool and steam rooms are lovely. We did the complimentary tour of the mansion (owned by Parks Victoria) which was really interesting. The gardens are quite special. Very peaceful break.
Not worth it both financially and for comfort
4.0Very ordinary ! A couples room with 1 chair . TV situated where the person on the far side of the bed couldnt see it . Tea but no coffee . A tiny main meal that wouldn't have fed my 10 yo grandson but was ridiculously priced . And we -who both struggle with mobility- and other older people parked where we were supposed to but management didn't enforce their own rules when a young fully abled couple parked at the front steps for few hours after checking in and then again overnight . Also a pokey and claustrophobic room .
Flowers for Shirley 🌺
8.0We went to a wedding in the gardens and stayed for the festivities however we had trouble locating our car late at night. Shirley at the front desk was very friendly and a big help. Thank you Shirley!
Very poor accommodation standards
2.0This is far from a 5 star hotel and the Lancemore Hotel Group should be totally embarrassed with offering this very poor standard of accommodation at such an overpriced cost. The rooms are very tired and dated. The ensuite in our room was patched up with a spa that has virtually gone yellow from age with many chips and scratch marks. The ensuite is also hazardous as the water is not contained to the shower itself and constantly leaks out to the ensuite floor. There was even a missing piece in the blind leaving sunlight to get through. The was one female bar staff member was very rude and arrogant with her service when we simply wanted fresh water on one occasion and she made us wait before telling us to use a near empty tank for self service. The gym area is also very tiny and does not have a lot of equipment at all. This also included a treadmill which was not working too! We have stayed at many hotels in the past and this is far one of the worst that we have stayed at. As a result, my recommendation would be to avoid this hotel and go somewhere else!
Pamper yourself with a visit to the spa, which offers massages, body treatments, and facials. You're sure to appreciate the recreational amenities, including an attached winery, outdoor tennis courts, and a health club. Additional amenities at this hotel include complimentary wireless internet access, concierge services, and gift shops/newsstands.
