− I didnt sleep very well due to very hard pillows which affected my experience. They only have hard rocks of pillows. Ended up with neck and headaches.

6.0The location is excellent, within walking distance of the Royal Mile, Edinburgh Castle, Waverley Station and many other attractions, making it a great base for exploring the city. The room was clean, towels were changed daily and we appreciated the complimentary still and sparkling water provided in the room. We also enjoyed dinner at the hotel one evening, where the kitchen accommodated my daughter's dietary requirements very well and the food was delicious. During our first two breakfasts, one member of staff went above and beyond to help with my daughter's dietary needs, and we are very grateful for her kindness and excellent customer service.
− Unfortunately, there were several areas that could be improved. One of the cups in the room was dirty on arrival, the room had an unpleasant smell that seemed to have been masked with air freshener, and there were water stains on the wall beneath the curtains. Our street-facing room was noisy, and outside smells entered the room, affecting our sleep. The shower design was impractical, with only a half glass screen, making it difficult to shower without soaking the bathroom floor. The resulting water damage around the bathroom door frame was clearly visible. Breakfast was disappointing considering the additional cost. Although the hotel confirmed they could accommodate dietary requirements, the choice for guests with multiple allergies was very limited and had to be requested each morning. The excellent service we received during our first two breakfasts was not consistent for the rest of our stay. The pancakes were dry and overcooked, there were no simple hard-boiled eggs despite several guests asking, and more suitable options such as allergy-friendly bread or porridge would have made a significant difference. Staff appeared rushed and under pressure, which affected the overall customer experience. On our final night the room was not serviced, the beds were not made and the complimentary water was not replenished.
