The hotel is a little oasis. Lush tropical gardens and mature trees create a beautiful, relaxing atmosphere. Two wonderful pools to swim in; all the grounds are immaculate. We stayed in an executive suite, which was spotlessly clean. Thank you to Mr Astawa from housekeeping; he was fantastic. While the property is one of Bali's older hotels, it is beautifully maintained and has oodles of charm and character. At some stage I think it will need a bit of a revamp as it is a bit dated but still very comfortable. Breakfast was excellent, with a wide variety of delicious options. The staff are so welcoming every morning at breakfast and cannot do enough to make your breakfast a memorable start to the day. Thank you to everyone at the Mercure Sanur too many to mention- but I would like to say thank you to Ms Yudi, who is the Mercure experience manager; she looks after the Guests with any requests or help. In our case, it was a late checkout, and I wanted a peek at another room style, because I will definitely be back.

− There was nothing I did not like. I prefer the Balinese charm and character when I'm in Bali.

Close to the front allowing you to walk the prominarde

− Very very very slow service, rooms from the 1970s and badly in need of a refurbishment. Never been in a resort that threatens you to charge you for losing a bamboo card, or a glass bottle! No hot water at all. Place is a disgrace for a brand like Accor. Even had security stop us after paying cash for everything and using the express checkout when checking out... WTF. Go somewhere else folks. No face towels, no hand towels in the bathroom. Napkin in the restaurant had a hole I could put my thumb thru literally.

De zwembaden waren lekker om even af te koelen. Je kunt vanaf het resort zo het strand oplopen. Alles wordt netjes schoongemaakt en goed onderhouden. Het ontbijt in het restaurant was prima en het diner op het strand was haarlijk. Het menu is niet uitgebreid, maar biedt voldoende keuze. Het personeel is heel erg servicegericht en vriendelijk.

− Het onderhoud van de huurfietsen kan beter. Geen bel, of verlichting en trappers die scheef staan. Gelukkig is Icon Bali maar een kwartierje fietsen. Het wachten op eten tijdens de lunch duurde regelmatig langer dan 30 minuten.

L’emplacement directement sur la plage et la piscine

− Le côté vieillot de l’infrastructure Le petit dej (le moins bon de 3 sem de vacances): le choix est top mais tout est sec (croissants, viennoiseries, même les crêpes faites à la minute car le préposé met tellement peu de pâte qu’elles croustillent…). La propreté (les services, assiettes, bols sont en majorité pas bien lavés) Le temps d’attente au restaurant (50min pour 4 pers quand il n y a presque personne…)
