10.0We travel a lot. Our stay here ranks at the top of all hotels we’ve been in, including 5 star resorts. Everything is perfect. The grand atmosphere, the wonderful staff, beautiful surroundings, perfectly appointed rooms and attention to detail. Our highest recommendation to find a reason to visit Salt Lake City and definitely stay here.
Not so grand any more, but still a pretty good hotel
8.0Room was spacious. Room service was decent. The in-room Nespresso machine was much appreciated. Parking was very convenient.
− Paper coffee cups would be okay jn a roadside motel but unacceptable in a hotel at this level. Not providing complimentary water means many guests will not hydrate themselves enough, which is particularly problematic in a dry elevation like SLC. The restaurant has been converted from an elegant dining room and nice menu to something that feels like a cheap diner with basic food. Even the Sunday buffet is more basic than before. Management has clearly made a business decision to “de-luxury” the hotel. It seems to be paying off for them- the hotel was full with vacationing families, kids running around, overcrowded pool. It feels more like a Holiday Inn than a “Grand” hotel. I hope they are turning a profit.
