Only ok, doesn’t deserve any star rating. Very basic.
5.0Good location. Luau was amazing.
− Staff not friendly. Protest outside the property by the staff probably explains their grumpiness. Even accounting for the construction it was smelly, not very comfortable, not spacious, very very basic accommodation, balconies didn’t feel safe and not modernized in any way. Insufficient towels in the rooms based on the number of people. I’ve stayed in one star places that were better equipped and accommodated for than this is.

9.0Loved the view from our room. Pool was very warm and pleasant just wish it was open later. Wanted more water fillers. Asked for early check in but that didn’t happen.

Lagoon Tower Improvement Project - Royal Kona Resort is consisted of of three individual towers in which guestrooms are located - Alii Tower, Bay Tower and Lagoon Tower. Exterior restoration work is taking place at the Lagoon Tower, located on the southern end of the resort property. No exterior restoration work is taking place at the Alii Tower or the Bay Tower. Guests booking the Royal Kona Resort will be accommodated exclusively in the Alii Tower or the Bay Tower, unless they have specifically chosen to book rooms located in the Lagoon Tower, which are being offered at a discounted rate and identified as "Lagoon Tower Renovation Rates". Resort guests may see scaffolding, repair work and painting occurring to the Lagoon Tower. While every effort will be made to minimize noise, resort guests may hear some work being done. Project work on the Lagoon Tower is restricted between 9am and 4pm. Our Lagoon Tower Improvement Project will continue through December 31, 2025 (subject to change)Guests are required to show a photo ID and credit card upon check-in. Please note that all Special Requests are subject to availability and additional charges may apply.
