Did not have a great experience at this hotel. This hotel does not have good management. It took almost 20 minutes for anyone to come to the front desk to assist with check in. We originally booked a king sized bed room, but were given a 2 queen room that smelled so bad (wet dog/moldy/smoke). Went back to the front desk to get a different room. Were told there were no more king bed rooms. After saying we were going to a different hotel, they gave a king room. The Billing has been a nightmare to attempt to correct. We noticed that we were charged twice for the stay before checkout. A stay that they have said they only charged $497 according to their bill, but there are $700 additional charges to the card on file. myself and others in the group had similar issues. we were told that a manager would contact us with a fix, but we have not been contacted. The only person that seems like they genuinely wanted to help was the woman at the front desk we spoke with at checkout, but she was not the manager and did not have access to look into the issue. But took notes from each of us to pass along to assist the manager when they got in at 11am.

Terrible—stay somewhere else!

2.0

Disgusting unclean hotel that one would not associate with the J. W. Marriott name. This hotel is on the Motel 6 level of quality and that is being very generous. A/C unit was filthy and clogged with debris that kept us up all night, the bath tub drain was clogged/plugged leaving the tub almost full after a shower. The only bright side? It was a one-night stay.

Great location very near to the PA Turnpike if you are travelling. The rooms were very clean and a good value for the money.

Security concerns

4.0

The room was dated but clean, and breakfast was fine. The parking lot is tight if you have a large vehicle, with only one in/out and that exit is located on a hill. The issues that prompted me to review, however, were check-in and billing. When we checked in, I was asked for my drivers license, no big deal. But before I realized what the clerk was doing, he made a paper copy of it before handing it back. When I asked what this was about, he said it was a new policy as of 'yesterday' and that it would be kept until I checked out then shredded. He put the copy of my license in an open metal bin right on the front desk, where anyone could see/grab it. That's an obvious security concern in and of itself, but when I checked out (they had moved what looked like paper copies of other guests' IDs to a different bin, but still on the front desk, and had at least folded the paper copy but had written what looked like the guest name and room # on the outside of the folded paper) they could not find my ID to shred. They said it was 'probably already shredded or tossed, so don't worry.' Yikes. I wound up putting a freeze on all 3 of my credit reports and an identity fraud alert anywhere else I could think of. I have never encountered this anywhere else and boy do I travel a ton for business - I'm a Marriott Platinum member, and use Hilton and others enough to have at least a gold level status on them all. I contacted Marriott customer service, who did confirm keeping a copy of my ID was hotel policy and that it could vary by hotel. They suggested guests contact hotels before reserving to ask about these kind of policies and practices. They advised the same for my next issue - billing. They were not helpful, frankly. When checking out, I asked for my bill to be split between two credit cards (personal and business). I've never had an issue doing this, at Marriotts or elsewhere, and never needed to ask in advance. Indeed, at the very next Marriott property I stayed at on this trip, they did this for me at check-out, easy peasy. But here, they attempted without success multiple times over the course of about 20 minutes to do this. When I asked if there was a manager on duty who could help, I was told that he might be able to resolve this but that he was staying at the hotel and hadn't 'come down' yet. It was early, before 8a, so I asked when he was expected to be in. The clerks had no idea and said it varied day to day. So, I left and asked them to call me when the manager was in. Later that afternoon, I had not received a call, so I contacted them and was told that the inability to split the bill was my fault - I had to have asked at check-in, and they would not be able to do it now, it was completely impossible. Nowhere I could find on the reservation details or in any signage or verbal communication at check in was this indicated, and I've never encountered it before. I wish Marriott would flag these issues in the hotel or reservation descriptions, so that guests are informed about what they'll encounter. We won't be back, and frankly, aren't planning to use Marriotts again anytime soon except to use the points we have for personal stays. If you are thinking of staying here, ask about the ID policy, how your ID copy will be secured (or not) and any billing questions you may have up front.

Breakfast choices

Nothing that I didn't like but the toilet contined to run until you played with it to stop. Reported upon exiting.
