This place sucks. Keep looking elsewhere.
2.0This place is a dump. We stayed in unit 210. NO view of the lake as advertised. Lots of dirty dishes, 1990's carpet in bedroom, futon - not a couch in the living room. Mismatched furniture on the very dirty patio. High top table with wicker furniture and no cushions. Dog biscuit, paper towel wadded behind bedside stand and an old wooden spoon in the windowsill for "security"? Crazy! A broken picture frame on the wall outside our door. Pool area was dirty and stairways covered in dust. Oh, and our toilet was used, not flushed and not working when we arrived...ugh! Unfortunately we had no where else to go since it's northern Michigan in the summer and everything was really busy. Otherwise we would have left.
Good enough
8.0Like others good and somewhat negative. Ironically someone else had rented 212 and I found similar issues. It was great they had pictures of the units and so the room was as I expected. Decoration was cute and it was clean. It was off season and quiet. For my purpose - I wasn’t there to hang out in the room - it was fine. I wouldn’t pick it if you’re staying for a birthday, anniversary- unless like me you plan on being out and about. I would stay another place next time but the issues weren’t enough I wouldn’t stay again. The room has new wood/tile flooring except the bedroom. The bedroom had old carpet. It looked cleaned but was stained. The carpet in the elevator was really bad. The decks overlook the busy road so not a place to relax. I found silverware but only 1 fork. Not sure what they would have done if I asked for more forks as they are individually owned. Can’t go taking them out of another room. Not a big deal could have bought some plastic at the grocery store. They advertise jacuzzi’s but the one in the room wasn’t functioning - I didn’t care. The light in the back parking lot was burned out so it was really dark when returning after sunset. The day or two later when I received an email to do a review there wasn’t a place to recommend they fix the above. You couldn’t leave any comments. I’m guessing they don’t read the on line comments (since the previous reviewer of room 212 noted the same issues) or don’t care / aren’t willing to fix. So you have to decide if these issues would bother you.
We had a great weekend and would stay with Pointes North again.
8.0We liked the view, the big windows and the location
− The living room furniture wasn’t comfortable
Overpriced and not for longer stay
4.0My fiancé and I rented unit 212 for three weeks in August 2023. The following are the pros and cons of the place: PROS: - The inn has a central location and it's very close to town. - Staff is friendly and helpful. - Sheets are changed weekly and fresh towels are provided as often as you need it. - The bed (king size) is comfortable. CONS: - The unit is very dated. The bedroom is depressing due to its tiny window, dark walls, and very old light fixtures. The carpet looked terrible. - The unit does not get cleaned during your stay (only sheets, towels are refreshed and garbage is emptied). - The bathroom is also dated with a big tub that normally nobody uses, and a very small shower. - The kitchen is okay if you stay for a only a few days. However, if you chose to stay for a few weeks, the lack of proper utensils (only 3 spoons, no cutting board), and old dishes, make your stay frustrating. - The mattress of the sofa bed is very thin. - The living room is tiny. - The balcony overlooks the busy street, so sitting outside is not necessarily peaceful. - The gym is outdated and there was no A/C. Overall, the unit was way overpriced for what it had to offer. If you stay for only a few nights, it's okay. If you plan to stay longer, not to mention want to invite guests, find another place. We won't return in the future.
Loved the staff
10.0− NEEDS MORE COMFORTABLE FURNITURE IN THE LIVING AREA
Perfect little getaway
10.0It was our first time to Charlevoix and now that we have fallen in love with the town, we’re already planning our next trip back! From the amazing food, extremely friendly atmosphere and the views (which are incredible), you’ll definitely enjoy your stay. We traveled with our pup so having a dog friendly suite at Pointes North Inn was super accommodating. They went above and beyond leaving bowls, treats, and a dog mat for him. We loved having the bedroom upstairs, away from the living room which made it feel bigger. Kitchen was updated and had everything you needed. Perfect patio walkout which lands you right on Main Street/Downtown, with a short walk to the water. Also, down the street within walking distance was a incredible coffee/crepe breakfast place, a few bars, restaurants and grocery store. Also, the manager at Pointes North Inn immediately made you feel like home as you walked into the lobby. We cannot wait to come back with our pup for another trip!
The seasonal pool will be open from June to September.
