June Holiday to Hotel Oliveto
10.0Absolutely brilliant location - very close to all the bars and restaurants and gorgeous views of the lake. Also very close to the train station and a central location meant it was very easy to get to Verona and Peschiera Del Garda. The ferry is also very close and a lovely quick trip over to Sirmione. Ferry and trains are very cheap compared to taxi fares. Staff here are wonderful, so helpful and friendly and were great with assisting with anything we needed. Food and drinks are also very nice. The outdoor bar does a great Hugo Spritz and the seafood pasta was a big fave! Couldn't rate this higher and cant wait to come back!
Building work underway
2.0There is continued construction work at this hotel which, the receptionist tells me, is some way off completion We paid extra for a room with a balcony looking over lake Garda. Yes, the lake is visible, but only if close one eye to block the crane and don’t look down so as to avoid the building supplies stacked around the entrance drive. The balcony was essentially unusable. Our room was also the last of the existing block so we were in the ‘front row’ for the building noises from the other side of the wall! This morning we had a 5:45 awakening as a lorry delivered some more building materials. The room itself looks tired and could do with a lick of paint, a bit of re-grouting and some new ceiling tiles, but maybe that will come when the other building work is done. Unless you can secure a room in the middle of the old building (expansion is going on at both sides), or until after the work is complete, I’d suggest looking elsewhere.

10.0Wir hatten ein großes, gemütliches und sauberes Zimmer. Da Frühstück war ausgezeichnet und reichhaltig. Da Personal freundlich und hilfsbereit. Schöner Pool und ausreichend Liegen. Wir waren sehr zufrieden.

− Die versprochene Sauna musste stundenweise gemietet werden, was unter Zeitdruck kaum Entspannung versprach und wir deshalb nicht nutzten.
