Disappointing Check-in and other issues
4.0Breakfast was the only highlight of the hotel. The buffet offered an excellent selection with plenty of variety. With all the issues mentioned below, it is only fair to acknowledge that, while we were leaving the hotel, Mr. Piercorrado Papotto approached us personally to apologise for what had happened. He listened to our concerns with genuine professionalism and kindness and asked if there was anything he could do to make things right. We sincerely appreciated his approach and willingness to help. It is unfortunate that we were not welcomed with the same level of respect when we first checked-in with Aida. Had our issues been handled with the same care from the beginning, our overall experience could have been very different.
− I booked two Lake View rooms, and both my confirmation and reservation clearly stated Lake View. However, upon arrival, we were given Side Lake View rooms instead. At check-in, I raised the issue immediately, but was simply told that nothing could be done and that all rooms are booked, no alternative, no upgrade, no compensation, not even a gesture of goodwill was offered. Unfortunately “Aida Speck” from reception couldn’t handle the situation and left us furious for two whole nights. Even if the booking was made through a third-party platform, the hotel is ultimately responsible for ensuring that the room accurately reflects what guests receive. If the room is in fact a side or lateral lake view, it should be advertised as “Side Lake View” or “Lateral Lake View”, not simply “Lake View”. The problems continued during our stay. On the first night, the shower was stuck and would not turn off. Reception staff tried to stop the water but were unsuccessful. Unfortunately, there was no maintenance team available and the only solution they gave is to stop the water from the bathroom, so we had to listen to running water throughout the night and were unable to sleep properly. The issue was only fixed the following morning. Another disappointment was the room’s cooling system. It should not be described as “air conditioning”. It keeps the room somewhat tolerable, but it does not properly cool the room, especially during the summer. Sadly, that was not my experience here. The property has many attractive qualities, but the way legitimate concerns were handled made me feel that appearances matter more than guest satisfaction.

Unfortunately, the service and handling of guest issues fall well below the standards I have experienced at other luxury hotels around the world. Luxury is not just about beautiful surroundings and toiletries ; it is about taking ownership when things go wrong and ensuring guests leave feeling valued. Sadly, that was not my experience here. The property has many attractive qualities, but the way legitimate concerns were handled made me feel that appearances matter more than guest satisfaction.
