Room Reservations .. Nah ... They are Suggestions for Marriott

I would love to leave a review on this property if Marriott had given me the room I had reserved. I made a reservation for a one week stay at this location for a two bedroom suite months earlier. When my party arrived at the location to check in the early evening we were informed by the front desk that the suites were not available and they would need to give us a different room. They offered us a one bedroom unit (one bed) with a (twin) sofa bed, which was the only available room at the time. Our party consisted of four adults including my elderly parents. I had booked the two bedroom suite to accomodate our larger party. They informed us other guests had extended their stays so there were no other available rooms. Marriott should NOT allow guests to extend their stays if it impacts future reservations. Otherwise, what is the point of making a reservation if the property can assign any random (type) room they want when you arrive? At no time did Marriott send me a notification that my original reservation was not available. Going from a two bedroom suite to a single room (one bed) + (twin) sofa bed is NOT an equivalent accomodation. Instead I had to search and book alternative rooms at another hotel at considerable additional expense. Something to keep in mind when booking with Marriott.

Rude staff, cero proper customer service

Rude staff (Monica frondesk), very deteriorated infrastructure, AC stopped working at 9 pm, took them 3 days to move to a different room. They were confused about my booking and without checking properly called me to “demand I leave because they were fully booked “ The lack of customer service, proper manners and hospitality operations overall is outrageous. Don’t stay here.

Schaumburg Residence Inn for family time

As a loyal Marriott family we frequent the Brand often. Since we are originally from the Chicago area, we traveled "home" to celebrate my Dad's 100th birthday - a surprise. This property could not have been more hospitable or kinder to our family. With 2 suites for 5 people and a fur baby, they made our home away from home so very comfortable. The front Desk staff, especially Christian, was most welcoming and attententive to everyone. The team who provides the breakfast buffet was excellent and the offerings plentiful. My children, furr baby and I had the 2 bedroom, with fireplace suite, and my husband and dad had a separate accomodation - to ensure Dad would be ok....after all he is 100. Upon check in they presented him with his first surprise, a beautiful birthday cake! All accomodating to pets, they included Sugar Plum on their welcome board too. Marriott SOPs for linen, etc are outstanding. One that my chidren in their 20's now have come to know and appreciate our homes away from home. Excellent Schaumburg property!
