6.0Baranof Lodge is centrally located and convenient for walking anywhere in downtown Sitka. The bed was very comfortable. The room was clean and had been updated. The heat unit, however, had only one temperature, hot. No matter how you turn the knob to low heat, or even cool, the temp remained hot. This was great for warming the room up when it was cold. But it was not great during the night when the unit made it too hot to sleep, and then, if you turn it off, the room became too cold. I notified the front desk person, and they said they would have it fixed. No doubt that happened after I left. I was pleased that there were ample towels and washcloths. The internet worked well. It was a fine stay other than the heat unit.
