Staff was very rude. Will never stay at this hotel again

Noel is run down and the furniture was inadequate. There was little or no place to put your belongings. No cheat or dresser. I would not stay there again.

I stay in motel rooms about a hundred nights a year, almost entirely at my own expense, so I try to keep my cost down to around $50 and am not picky at all. In fact, I have seldom written a negative review of a motel, but I will in this case! My wife and I visit our son in Battle Creek every summer for a few days. This year we chose America's Best Value because it [allegedly] has a swimming pool and is close to our son's apartment. I will first list the things I liked about it (it's a short list): (1) the lighting in the bathroom was very good (2) the location was very convenient for restaurants, shopping, movies, and (as I've mentioned) our son's residence So much for the positives. Now for the negatives: (1) The swimming pool was under renovation, though it is still pictured on the website (2) The outside looks quite rundown (3) The inside of the room was *very* basic, including few surfaces to put things on (4) No nightstand on one side of the bed (5) The shallowest motel desk I've ever seen (6) Poor Wi-fi (7) Few TV channels and lousy reception (8) No breakfast (9) No maid service during our three-day stay! (10) Many undesirable residents, seemingly long-term, partying and making noise late at night This place would have been marginally worth staying at for $40 a night (like Rodeway Inn across the road) but at $59 it is a rip-off. We will not stay here again.

One of the worst motels I've ever stayed in

I stay in motel rooms about a hundred nights a year, almost entirely at my own expense, so I try to keep my cost down to around $50 and am not picky at all. In fact, I have seldom written a negative review of a motel, but I will in this case! My wife and I visit our son in Battle Creek every summer for a few days and usually stay at the Knights Inn for $40-50 per night. This year we decided to stay elsewhere because (1) Knights Inn is no longer part of Wyndham Hotels, from whom I collect rewards points, and (2) it wanted $65 a night, which it isn't worth. So I chose America's Best Value because it [allegedly] has a swimming pool and is close to our son's apartment. I will first list the things I liked about it (it's a short list): (1) the lighting in the bathroom was very good (2) the location was very convenient for restaurants, shopping, movies, and (as I've mentioned) our son's residence So much for the positives. (10) Many undesirable residents, seemingly long-term, partying and making noise late at night This place would have been marginally acceptable at $40 a night (which is what the Rodeway Inn across the street charges), but at $59 it's a rip-off. I will never stay here again and will spend considerably more, if I must, to avoid it.

The property was undergoing renovations. I was notified the week before arrival, which was too late to change accomodations. First room had bed bugs. Second room had major issues with bedding. They attempted to change first room with another, bed was disgusting to say the least. Ended up substituting first room with two newly renovated rooms. Finally settled into the newly renovated room, found dirty towel and washrag behind door in bathroom of one of those rooms. Most disturbing weekend ever. Rooms were not cleaned/beds made during stay. Staff was pleasant and he was disgusted when we took him to see rooms he was putting us in.

First room we checked into was very disgusting and no toilet paper bugs on bathroom floor tub was covered in cigeratte burns, second room he put us in after we complained had a broken uncomfortable bed lights flickering and smoke detector beeping and more cigarette burns on tub and sink and not very clean.
