Hidden Midtown Gem!!
10.0A hidden gem in midtown. Didn’t realize when I made the reservation it is a 4-star hotel. It’s better than 4 stars! Very quiet, comfortable and only 8 minute walk to MSG. Rooftop bar looking up to the Empire State Building is a plus. Would go back again! We really enjoyed our stay at the Kixby.
Small rooms average experience
6.0Just be ready for the small room and toilet. We needed the fridge to be a fridge but was told by handyman that was as cold as it would get. We had medication bagged and sent to their other fridge which meant it was a regular problem. It was more a cooling box. The whole place is very tight. We were getting chased to leave room a day early but when I went down to sort was told it was an error. No apology more of a ‘it’s sorted we messed up ‘.. The tidy up is average. I would say the best thing about this place was location you are in the thick of it. Use Uber over hotels recommendations for taxis - it’s way cheaper than their options. We tested this with airport transfers. They do have a floor 2 tea cofee basic station with an ice machine which was handy as the ice melted very fast in our cooling box. Reception seats around 6 to 8 then you hang around. The view was someone else’s back wall with windows…which though very annoying could not be helped if you are city centre. I don’t think we would rush back here it does not have the comfort levels that we like and really is just small rooms premier inn style with terrible views. Anyway location is great and decent Rooftop - that’s the plus side.

10.0All was excellent. This is a fantastic location and the cleanest and most comfortable room I have ever stayed in. The staff was awesome, very helpful with the questions I asked. Ver attentive and they pay a great deal of attention to detail. I'll recomend this hotel to anyone I know going to New York.

Excellent location to explore NYC from
8.0We have just returned after 5 nights at the kixby hotel. Excellent location very close to the subway station, 12 minutes walk to Times Square and loads of shops and restaurants nearby. We had a queen room and a king lux. Both rooms amply big enough with good air conditioning but quite noisy so we had to turn it off at night. Weirdly there were no mirrors in the room, only in the bathroom which was annoying especially when styling hair! Our rooms faced an interior courtyard and there was a constant loud humming from outside all night, we couldn’t really work out what it was but decided it was less noisy than cars and sirens from the streets if we were staying elsewhere. The staff are super friendly and helpful and the drinks facilities on the 2nd floor were an excellent perk. I would absolutely stay here again if in New York.
