Ko Olina Marriott is stunning
10.0This place was amazing. All the luxury of Marriott without the stuffiness. Beautiful beach. Great service. All the extras.
Best family resort
10.0We brought our family to this resort, including two babies, and it was the perfect place for a family vacation. One of the things we loved most was the spacious two-bedroom condo, complete with a full kitchen and washer and dryer. Traveling with little ones can make dining out challenging, so we appreciated being able to shop at Costco and barbecue dinner each night. The lagoons were ideal for babies and young children because the water is so calm and gentle. We spent most of our time enjoying the splash pad, water slides, and lazy river, which were a huge hit with the whole family. We also loved the resort activities, especially the sunrise yoga and water aerobics classes. The gym was well-equipped, although it tended to be busy throughout the day. What truly sets this resort apart are the stunning grounds. The landscaping and scenery are absolutely breathtaking and create a relaxing, tropical atmosphere. This is one of my favorite resorts, and we look forward to returning again in the future.
Exceptional Service
10.0We always enjoy this location - exceptional hotel, very friendly and qualified staff and a wonderful environment. Some exceptional staff that have assisted us are Angel, Nikki Melvin, and Mona. Thank you for going above and beyond
The Best Resort Experience of Our Oahu Vacation
10.0After staying at multiple resorts during our Oahu vacation, Marriott's Ko Olina Beach Club was easily our favorite and the property we would most look forward to returning to. We stayed in a two-bedroom villa, which was spacious, spotless, and perfect for our family. Our ground-floor location near the pool couldn't have been better and made it incredibly convenient to enjoy the resort. The entire property was beautifully maintained. The pools were excellent, but the lagoons and beach area were the true highlight. The setting was peaceful, relaxing, and felt worlds away from the crowds found in other parts of the island. One thing I particularly appreciated was the resort's approach to pool chair availability. After leaving our towels unattended for about 35 minutes, staff removed them. While some guests may not like that policy, I actually applauded it. After experiencing resorts where chairs are claimed for hours and sit empty all day, it was refreshing to see management actively preventing chair hogging. I was able to retrieve my belongings easily and find another chair without any issue. The only minor inconvenience during our stay occurred at the onsite store. My 20-year-old son carried our shopping basket while I selected drinks and snacks, including alcohol. At checkout, I was informed that because he had carried the basket, I could not purchase the alcohol and would need to return through a different register. It seemed unnecessarily strict and was a bit inconvenient. The employee assisting us was also not particularly friendly. Fortunately, that was a very small part of an otherwise outstanding experience. The woman who checked us in was wonderful, the restaurant staff were warm and welcoming, and the overall service throughout the resort was excellent. Having also stayed at other well-known Oahu resorts during this trip, Marriott's Ko Olina Beach Club stood out for its spacious accommodations, beautiful grounds, cleanliness, relaxed atmosphere, and exceptional beach experience. It delivered the perfect Hawaiian vacation and was, without question, our favorite stay on the island. We would absolutely stay here again and highly recommend it to families, couples, and anyone looking for a more relaxing resort experience on Oahu.
Staff made it great
10.0From being offered a bottle of water in line for check in, very pleasant check in at the Japanese concierge desk (helping to keep the front desk line moving), and friendly service at Longboards and towel huts. The staff this visit really elevated our experience. In particular though, Chasen and Maria from the activities staff were great with our kids and with my talkative/inquisitive in-laws as well :) Chasen made sunset bingo really fun, engaging, and entertaining. Beautiful lagoon swimming, beach, and walking paths. Heads up that it was still a bit brisk/cool in lagoon end of May. Relatedly, my only suggestion for improvement would be to heat the pools more. Was cold in February trip years prior and was hoping it would be better in late May with warmer sun and air temps to help, but still we could only stay in a bit at a time before needing the hot tubs.
Dominated by locals
8.0Marriott Ko Olina is a fantastic place-we’ve been coming here with our family for years. The only problem is that it’s become a free, public playground for locals. While those of us who spend thousands of $’s a year to secure and preserve our use of this beautiful resort, management and employees turn a blind eye and allow friends and family open access. Nobody ever checks validity of wrist bracelets-have one of your buddies at the front desk get you one and you’re in. Never in 20+ years has anyone asked for our name and room #. I’d welcome it-as would many others. Weekends are the worst-no point, as an owner staying around the resort on Saturdays & Sundays. On those days you’ll see the locals roll in with their ice chests and party supplies. I’ve complained to Marriott-they do nothing. Apparently management and employees want to preserve their relationships with friends and neighbors, so they continue to dominate.
