Saratoga charm and great location

Excellent service from all the staff made this stay very pleasant. From the outside, the building looks rather fragile—-but then again it’s over 150 years old. Interior has a lot of nice antiques but some stuff shows its age quite a bit. Sagging floors and sad carpeting do not enhance the physical appeal. Our room was quite a bit more compact than anything we saw on the website but in the end it was ok. Massive bed was comfy and charming. Bathroom updated to early 21st century. We really appreciated the restaurant waitstaff who took great pains to see that we enjoyed our evenings at dinner or the bar. Am not sure we’d pick this hotel for a return visit but very glad we chose it for our first Saratoga Springs visit.

Great hotel and a lovely find

What a lovely hotel and a super stay. It's at the end of the Main Street in Saratoga, so close to lots of shopping, bars and restaurants, a great place to base yourself. It is an old hotel with a lot of the original fixtures and fittings which of course is its charm. The staff were fantastic, very helpful and super efficient. They have a bar and restaurant and they do a very reasonable breakfast buffet which is lovely. The room was very clean and quite large with two double beds. It was very comfy indeed with a/c (not sure what it would have been like in the 1800's without it?) Bear in mind though it is not a modern hotel, the floors, and rooms are very much from the time it was built with updates as time has gone on. But again it what makes the hotel the find it is. There is free on site parking as well. We ate in the town so didn't try the restaurant but the bar is very nice and they had a singer/guitarist on when we stayed. I would definitely stay again and in fact wished we were staying more than the one night that we did.

A nice vintage Victorian hotel

If you want to experience a vintage Victorian hotel with antique furniture for a good price, that's the place to go. It is a walking distance from mainstreet if you want to do window shopping in the exclusive shops. The other Victorian hotel downtown, the Adelphi, is much more expensive. Even though the hotel is old, all the room have been renovated. Contrarily to another client who complained her room was small, ours was large. Despite its age, the hotel has an elevator to access the upper floors (easier with luggage). The premises has a nice outside court that we didn't go to because it was winter. We had dinner at the tavern animated with an Irish band (check schedule on the website) and a breakfast with homemade pastries (for only $10). There is a small free parking (because when the hotel was built, clients came on horse buggies!). There is no pool, again because in those years it was not the norm. And you check out with a small box of chocolates as souvenir.

Victorian Elegance

We have stayed at the Inn three times traveling from Iowa to Boston to visit family at Christmas time. It’s a little out of the way but worth it. Love the vintage feel and friendly staff. The downtown is a short walk away. A must visit
