Resort price for a motel property
4.0My sister and I were very disappointed in this property. We stayed one night in a standard room with two queen beds and the total cost was $305.07- booked directly with Hotel using our AAA “discount”. I feel ripped off. The room was clean, the beds were comfortable and we had a view of the back valley. But, it was nothing more than what we had at Best Western for a third of the price. The website pictures completely distort, the basic motel feeling of the property. The front desk staff were not rude but indifferent and the restaurant was barely a step above a diner. At this price, I would never go back.
Convenient to Capital Reef…
6.0We stayed at Capital Reef resort while visiting the park. It was convenient to the park and restaurants. Please be aware that rooms open to the outside and I recommend getting a room with a balcony for more spacious accommodations. Staff was friendly and helpful. Our party found the advertising a bit misleading. While the accommodations were adequate they were not what we were expecting with the term “resort.” Again, it was adequate and met our needs.
Was poor quality for the price charged. Was meant to be a special stay for my daughter as we celebrated her birthday. Bu
6.0The pool, hot tub and the fire pit, dark room for sleeping
− The rooms were rather tired and outdated. I didn’t appreciate having to sign a waiver to my personal belongings in my room, especially when no safe was provided! I didn’t like the fact that there was no real option for a continental breakfast. We ate there for an evening meal and it was very poor quality and neither of us enjoyed it nor finished our meal.
Awesome resort for family of 5 - amazing views, great accommodation, and wonderful staff!
10.0The Capitol Reef Resort is very picturesque. The wagons are awesome with the back drop of the beautiful scenery. The resort is laid out well with lots of room to enjoy the Utah nature. The resort was just lovely. The staff were amazing! We arrived when the Cottonwood Fire and ash were impending and the staff offered us masks at no charge. I had booked a covered wagon for our family but worried about the smoke/ash, the check-in staff offered me 2 different rooms and even let us go and look at them to decide. We opted for a king cabin with a loft which worked out perfectly for us. The kids loved the loft and my husband and I loved the room! It was quiet and very comfortable. Nice also to have the restaurant right on site and it was relatively close to Capitol Reef Resort. Also loved roasting marshmallows (free sticks to do so by the fire pit) too!! We would definitely stay there again!!
− Nothing. It was all good! (Two of the pictures show the smoke from the Cottonwood Fire. The next evening was clear.)
