2.0First, I am a Hilton diamond and have been for the last several years. So far this year I have stayed at Hilton properties for 55 nights. I am used to most travel hick-ups and normally roll with the punches. However, as is customary with most hotels, accommodations are made for people who stay and pay many thousands of dollars each year to a hotel chain. For the first time this year I had the occasion to have morning meetings and a late afternoon flight. Since I needed professional attire for my meetings and would prefer to fly more comfortably, I requested an extra hour to the posted check out time. This is usually granted with a smile or it's been declined due to a huge turnaround of rooms which I totally understand. Neither was what I was presented with. A laminated sheet of paper was shoved in my face and I was told I could certainly check out an hour later but I would be charged an extra $40 for the privilege. This is totally unreasonable and extortion. Especially to the people that keep hotels in business! I called Hilton corporate and was told this is not their policy but the franchisees make up their own. I will never stay at this property again and I truly hope you won't either.
