10.0Das Hotel ist einfach, aber sehr schön. Die Lage direkt am Pazifik ist außergewöhnlich! Man kann schon mit Meerblick unter Palmen frühstücken. Für amerikanische Verhältnisse war das Frühstück gut. Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt und können es nur weiterempfehlen.
Not as nice as the photos, but this close to the ocean is hard to find
7.0Can’t beat the proximity to the ocean - it’s right on the water, and the beach lounges facing the ocean are really nice but could be improved with some sort of beach umbrella. You can’t easily get down to the water since it’s cliffside, but you can take a stroll through the neighborhood to get down to the water’s edge and then walk along the beach.
− It’s an older motel setup, so between what could be an incredible view of the ocean from your room is the outdoor hallway with guests walking by to get to and from their rooms. Also, the back side of the rooms are against the freeway, and since the windows aren’t upgraded to be more soundproof, what you hear as you fall asleep in a room right next to the ocean is not the sound of the waves, but the freeway. The breakfast is was hard to enjoy, frankly. Coffee was disappointing, there were bagels each day with cream cheese and a toaster, store bought muffins/danishes, hard boiled eggs, cereal in containers that didn’t look like they wanted to be opened, and whole bananas on the weekday, but a slight improvement on the weekend with a cut up fruit salad.

10.0It is so very unique to stay there and be a part of ehat they have created for everyone who is lucky enough to visit. We met folks who had been coming here for years, and we see why. The staff are so warm and friendly. The shoals restaurant was just delicious, and we had dinner and drinks looking out to the water.The location is breathtaking as it sits on the edge of the ocean, with the pool, grounds and restaurant all together. Our room had a huge window looking out to sea. So special! We plan to come back and visit every year to start a new tradition.
