Excellent, modern hotel

Excellent, modern hotel in a fantastic location. It’s just a short walk from Cales Fonts and very close to Mahón. The hotel offers stunning views over the Port of Mahón, one of the largest natural harbours in the world. The staff are friendly and professional, and both the service and the breakfast are excellent. Highly recommended!

We had requested a accessible room on our booking only to arrive to find that they had allocated a standard room which apparently didn’t have a accessible room, on inspection of the room it didn’t meet health and safety requirements and there was no water in the room. I went down to reception and requested to see the guest relations manager, after a brief wait i met with her and eventually they gave me an accessible room on the second floor room230 which did meet safety requirements although the view out of the window was a wall about 2 metres away .The room however did meet with Barcelo standard clean and comfortable bed. Breakfast was buffet style the dining room which felt small compared to other Barcelo hotels but the breakfast was very good. We were on bed and breakfast and was going to dine in the evening at some point but decided not to after seeing the presentation one evening as it lacked choice of dishes. The pool area is in the centre of the building and the pool is small due to it being in a limited space we found it was better to sunbathe on the roof level. We are part of the Barcelona rewards scheme and it appeared at first that the hotel was unaware of our status. Our saviour was Niaomi on reception who was exceptional and is a credit to the hotel and should be made employee of the month if such a scheme operates within this hotel. Despite the mishaps we had an enjoyable holiday but our experiences reflect my overall raring marked down on room mistake and lack of knowledge of rewards status

Went for a week on all-inclusive with Jet2. 16th-23rd July 2026. Room 207 on 2nd floor with a balcony overlooking the entrance to the harbour. A nice hotel, friendly staff, good food, nice pool & clean, however I probably wouldn't stay there again. It's in the wrong location in a residential area with narrow one-way streets, very limited parking, no beach nearby & nothing is close by. The shower tray in my room (207) was really slippy & on the 1st morning I slipped over spraining my ankle. I asked at reception if they had non-slip mats & they sent one up straight away, so why don't they supply one in your room? I had to ask again a few days later as the maid took it away one day when cleaning. Big LED TV on the wall in my room but pretty useless! Everytime you switch on you have to go into settings & select English & then scroll through the channels. Most channels that are programmed in don't work & the one's that do keep dropping out. Great wifi throughout the hotel, free on AI. Safe (set your own code) & mini-fridge in room, free on AI. Roof bar was good at night (too hot for me in the day) as you can sit with a drink & watch boats/ships coming in & out of Mao harbour. The outdoor pool is in a quadrangle in the centre of the hotel, there was always plenty of place & the pool was good. Pool towels supplied free on AI & exchangable at reception. The pool bar is unfortunately up a flight of steps so you have to be careful if coming down with 2 drinks in your hands as you cant hold on. I was not keen on being able to charge everything to your room just by verbally quoting your room number. Easy to use but whats to stop someone giving your room number & then you get a big bill when you go to check out! There is a secure luggage room, locked & cases tagged for identity. If you walk about 10mins down the road you can catch the 02 Bus (air conditioned) into Mahon bus station (€1.75 cash only, takes about 10 mins) & you get off at the same stop when you come back. There is a small supermarket about 5 mins walk from the hotel & sells most thinks.

No sunbeds

Have stayed here for the last 10 years (the receptionist didn’t bat an eyelid when we mentioned it) The rooftop has been turned into more of an evening drinking space even though it stands empty for the daylight hours. We were mortified at being asked publicly to move our sunbeds! We won’t be back, despite it being a great hotel. Just not interested in sunbed wars!

3 Night Break

Myself and my partner spent 3 nights here last week. First impressions Overall hotel has a nice aesthetic reception and lounge had nice sea views and it was lovely and cool. Check in We had an early flight arrived at hotel for just after 10 so room wasn't ready but there was a room we could get changed and a secure luggage room that we could leave our bags in. They did give us our bands as we were all inclusive which meany we were able to access this as soon as we arrived. Also get pool towels included with AI which is a nice touch. Food Overall food was good breakfast was probably best meal of the day. Not a huge choice at lunch and evening but more than enough to have a nice meal and it was a good standard. We did have the tapas at the pool bar one day for lunch which was made to order and very nice. This was included in the AI but was for later in the afternoon. Drinks Never any big ques and staff always friendly. Good measures bottles of water instead of machines which is handy. Pool areas We really liked the roof top area about 10 jacuzzi tubs nice temp to just dip and cool down. Brilliant views bit of music and never any issue getting a sun lounger. The pool area was nice had much less of a breeze so felt very warm but again no issues with beds and pool nice ans cool. Not massive but big enough for a swim. Room Room was big and clean. All amenities you would need we didn't have a sea view which was slightly disappointing but we didn't spend a huge amount of time in there. Shower was nice and powerful separate toilet which is handy. Entertainment There wasn't a huge amount going on in this hotel which was fine for us as we were looking for a chilled couple of days which is what this hotel gives. Location 15 mins from airport cost £14 in taxi. If you want beaches then this probably isn't the right location for you nearest one I think was 20 min drive away. However couple of minutes walk around from the hotel and there was a stretch of restaurants/bars along the front that made for a lovely walk in the evening. Overall we liked this hotel and would return. Personally we feel that this hotel is good for a short break and wouldn't choice for anything longer than 3 nights but that's just a personal preference.
