We visited Blowing Rock for the first time July 2026 and thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this Hallmark like town!!! We stayed at Meadowbrook Inn which was amazing 🤩 Clean, friendly staff and was within walking distance from all downtown area. Room was clean, beds were very comfortable. We booked another stay before leaving. Could not ask for anything else. Rated 10 out of 10!!

What a wonderful hotel . Very nice , large rooms, clean, staff was great . And location is the best. Can walk to everything downtown blowing rock. . Definite repeat !!

Worst. Stay. Ever. Absolute Nightmare

A giant disappointment. A Motel 6 would be cleaner and more comfortable. The one positive is the location and the Starbucks coffee pods in the room. That’s it. The areas that need improvement: mattress hard as a rock and obviously very, very dated. All the bedding and bath linens the same. The HVAC archaic and loud as hell, waking us up all night. WiFi weak. Did NOT feel clean at all; I would not walk barefoot on the tile in the bathroom. We skipped having our room serviced day one but wanted it day two. I’m posting a photo of what the room looked like after it was serviced: they emptied the trash and dropped a stack of towels; but no refresh of the bathroom and no making the bed. I have never seen this happen at any hotel, but especially one that charges these rates. There is no breakfast, nor even the option to purchase a banana or granola bar. But the worst part, is everyone who works for this hotel is extremely unfriendly. And that is what makes posting this review so easy to do. This hotel needs to invest in improving the property and training its people. Unfortunately, as I understand from local friends, they are spending their investment dollars to buy other small hotels in this market. So be sure to look at their website, see the list of what they call “sister properties” and I’d steer clear of the those also! Good luck.

Absolute Nightmare of a Stay

BEWARE! Filthy and unkept! Bathroom was disgusting. Posting photos. Housekeeping only dropped off supplies in a pile- no refresh of baths and no making the bed. So we cancelled housekeeping the rest of our stay. I may as well have booked an Airbnb. The phone did not operate, we decided because there are so many issues they don’t want to hear about it. Wifi very spotty. Lock didn’t work; had the giant inconvenience of getting a key programmed every day. The AC worked, thank goodness, but it was so incredibly old and loud it kept us awake all night. Mattress and all bedding very very dated and all needs replaced; thank goodness we at least had good pillows in our car from travel as the ones in the room were horrendous. If it would not have been 4th of July weekend would have walked in and walked right back out of this place but we were stuck! This stay was a nightmare! Also if you look on their website they have lots of other “sister properties” in the area they’ve recent acquired. So beware of those also! Good luck.

Our family had an incredible stay at Meadowbrook Inn over the Fourth of July holiday. The staff was helpful and attentive. The rooms were spacious and clean. The location was easily walkable to tons of great places right in downtown Blowing Rock.

I love this hotel! It was in the perfect location. The rooms are amazing! The grounds are beautiful.
