Nice place but parking charge took the edge off our stay.
8.0Cleanliness of room very good. Pool areas nice.
− $30 per day to park is ridiculously expensive especially when all have to drive to this venue.
Canyon Villas = Fabulous Marriott Vacation Club Resort
10.0Tried and true, Marriott's Canyon Villas continues to excel as a vacation destination. We have vacationed at Marriott's Canyon Villas since the resort opened, and we continue to cherish our time at Canyon Villas. For us, Canyon Villas is the definition of an easy vacation. It starts with a nonstop flight to Phoenix, followed by an arrival at the always-friendly Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport (a special shout-out to the exceptionally professional and friendly representative at American Airlines Baggage Service). From there, it's a bit of a walk from our gate to the Sky Train and rental car center—but we consider that great exercise! After our customary stop at Costco to stock up for the week, it's an easy drive to Canyon Villas, where the efficient pre-arrival process and seamless check-in set the tone for another relaxing stay. This visit, we're in a beautifully refurbished two-bedroom villa. The resort remains impeccably maintained, with excellent pools, a well-equipped, immaculate, fitness center, and attractive grounds. We don't typically participate in the organized resort activities—we prefer to create our own vacation experience—but there are plenty of activities offered every day for those who wish to participate. Owners and guests at Marriott's Canyon Villas have limited access to the adjacent JW Marriott Phoenix Desert Ridge Resort and Spa, which offers an impressive collection of amenities, including a fabulous pool complex, lazy river, and water park. Unfortunately, access has become more restricted over the years. Canyon Villas guests are now blacked out during most weekends, holiday periods, and times when the hotel is hosting large groups or operating at high occupancy. We usually enjoy dining at Tía Carmen during our stays, but on this trip, one visit was enough. The staff at Marriott's Canyon Villas continue to be one of the resort's greatest strengths. Everyone is friendly, professional, and efficient. One standout is a dark-haired housekeeping manager who seems to be everywhere at once. She doesn't know us personally, yet she always greets us with genuine warmth and enthusiasm. Her positive energy is contagious, and she clearly takes great pride in the resort. My previous reviews cover many of the finer details of Canyon Villas, so I won't repeat them here. Suffice it to say that Canyon Villas remains one of Marriott Vacation Club's finest resorts. The villas are spacious, beautifully maintained, and the recently refurbished accommodations are outstanding. We also noticed that at least one building is currently closed for renovations, a reassuring sign that Marriott continues to invest in keeping the resort in top condition. We look forward to returning to Marriott's Canyon Villas for many years to come.
bad service for activites and last minute changes 1/5 stars
2.0The Service was pretty bad on the active's the schedule said that there was candy bar bingo at 3 then the switch it the same day to how well do you know your family I think they switched it because they were too cheap to give out candy bars. The was a Asian lady on Sunday that was mean during 10 min after 3 because we came late due to a guy on the highway staled and the lady said you can't join and said get out. I would recommend here to get fired she treated us like being 10 min late means we cant join. I do not recommend the actvites

Great time with Grand-kids!
10.0We have been owners with MVCI since 2004. We bought our first "week" when the Canyon Villas pool was a hole in the ground! This trip was another visit with our grandchildren and it was extremely rewarding. This amazing property has developed into everything we dreamed it would be. The check-in experience was awesome, the room (2612) was recently refurbished, clean and overlooked the amazing Cholla Courtyard. During our stay we enjoyed an evening at AquaRidge at the JWMarriott across the street with no issues (get your wristbands and key card at Canyon Villas front desk). We really like what you have done at the east end of the Canyon Villas lap pool - thanks for creating this comfortable space! The Grand-kids really enjoyed the tie-die shirt activity - thanks to Jean & Crystal! Looking forward to our next visit later this year. Safe travels to all!
Time sure trap… The worst front desk customer service… avoid this place.
2.0As a lifetime titanium elite member I love marriott hotels. The Canyons in Scottsdale is an exception… they provided some of the worst customer service I have experienced over the last 15 years. The checkin process for a non owner is all about selling you a time share. I requested an additional 15 - 20 for checkout to be moved from 11am to 11:20am so I could take a business call before heading back home. I even spoke with a manager and they explained they needed the full 5 hours to get the room ready for an “owner” who was checking in at 4pm. You see where this is going. Avoid this property at all costs is my recommendation. There are much better options with a lot friendlier staff in the area.
