Delightful and relaxing
10.0What a beautiful and relaxing place to stay! The house and rooms are welcoming and well-stocked..from the freshly baked cookies, to the tea/coffee/waters in multiple locations; it was easy to leave any stress at the door. We walked up to the winery in the early afternoon - fabulous mountain views, wood-burning fireplace, nice range of wines to sample. Dinner and breakfast were both delicious with creative offerings and a relaxed pace. Wonderful staff! We would definitely stay again... I imagine the views are lovely in the Fall too!
10 out of 10
10.0We had a truly wonderful time. The food was delicious and the entire retreat exceeded my expectations. The yoga instructors and hiking guides were really great, they definitely added to the experience.
Nice setting, Well managed.
10.0We enjoyed a wine paired dinner there recently. It is a beautiful old house in a beautiful valley. The food was good, the wines not bad, and the service was excellent. Good management shows in so many ways.
Best Inn Experience - Forget the Inn at Little Washington
10.0Unbelievable special experience. Hands down better than Inn at Little Washington where we stayed the next night. Food was out of this world. Be sure to stay for dinner!
Beautiful and charming

A Restorative Couples Getaway at The Farmhouse at Veritas
10.0My husband and I recently spent four days at a yoga retreat at The Farmhouse at Veritas, and it was truly one of the most peaceful, rejuvenating experiences we’ve ever shared. Nestled in the quiet beauty of Virginia wine country, with serene mountain views and easy access to the Appalachian Trail and Skyline Drive, the setting alone was enough to reset our souls. Each day began with a gentle yet invigorating yoga flow session and ended with deeply restorative yoga in the late afternoon—both led by knowledgeable, attentive instructors who created a welcoming space for all levels. Between classes, we enjoyed personalized guided hikes through breathtaking landscapes. The hikes were led by knowledgeable and friendly locals who tailored the experience to our group. We also had the option to relax with a massage instead of yoga or a hike. The meals were an absolute highlight in themselves: farm-to-table freshness, creative dishes, and seasonal customization. From fresh, flavorful breakfasts to exquisite four-course wine-pairing dinners, every bite reflected the care and passion of the excellent chefs. As an added delight, we wore our active leisurewear to all our meals (though some people dressed up a little for the final dinner). The chef's cooking demonstration and winemaker's cellar tour were both fascinating, informative, and fun. The French press coffee each morning, made with a special Shenandoah Joe Veritas blend, was unforgettable, as were the fresh-squeezed orange juice and afternoon carrot-ginger juice. Oh, and the cookies… quite possibly the best we’ve ever tasted! The only downside was they were always available! The farmhouse rooms were quaint, charming, and full of character—each one unique. Whether you're a couple, a mother-daughter pair, or close friends, this retreat is perfect for reconnecting and unwinding. By the end, what started as a group of strangers quickly became a circle of friends. The family who runs the vineyard made everyone feel welcome, and the whole experience had a warm, personal touch that’s hard to find. We left feeling refreshed, grounded, and incredibly grateful for the experience, people we met, and the time we spent together. If you're looking for a peaceful retreat that blends wellness, connection, delicious food and wine, and the beauty of the Blue Ridge, this is it.
