My Worst Experience in Jamaica
1.0As for the location, I'd recommend staying at Kuyaba—which is right next door—1,000 times over. Legends was my worst experience after traveling all over Jamaica.
− Everything about our experience was terrible, starting with the fact that a few days before our check-in date, they raised the price of the reservation—something that had never happened to me in all my years of traveling— however, since my travel date was approaching, I didn’t have time to look for another place. Upon arrival, the receptionist greeted us with a very bad attitude and told us we had to pay even more than the already increased amount and that we had to hand over the physical card—they wouldn’t accept payment with a different card. Yelling at us, she said they wouldn’t let us stay at the hotel and that they would refund the money we’d paid. We were there with a child under 10 who was crying from the stress of hearing her screams, we finally had to beg her to accept payment with another card, and they put us in a room that didn’t match the photos in the listing. The hotel was old, ugly, and run-down. We complained, and they told us the photos were just for reference and that we had to accept it because it was “clean,” and that to get a room like the one in the photos, we’d have to pay even more. The air conditioner was very loud the whole time, and the hotel hadn’t been fumigated, so there were cockroaches, mosquitoes, and gnats in the room. The bathrooms are terrible, and the mattresses are old and uncomfortable. There are hotels nearby that aren’t listed on Booking.com, and I recommend checking them out before you make your reservation. We switched to Kuyaba, and it’s 100% better.
Amazing Beach Location
9.0We loved staying here. The location is fantastic, right on Negril’s beautiful Seven Mile Beach. There are sun loungers available for guests, and the restaurant serves really good food. If you book here, it’s definitely worth paying a little extra for a room on the beach side of the road, as it’s just steps from the sand. The rooms are fairly basic but clean and comfortable, and the location more than makes up for it.
It was a great stay with plenty of swimming and resting.
