Wonderful stay, beautiful views, top notch service

We stayed in the beachfront villa to celebrate our honeymoon and it truly was so special! The villa was fantastic and perfectly located on the beach, with a dedicated beach bed. The service all around the resort was impeccable. The food was good, it was well located, and we overall loved celebrating and relaxing at the Layana!

A paradise-like experience

My wife and I had a wonderful experience at Layana. The location is absolutely stunning. You’re surrounded by lush nature and the beach landscape is memorable. We’ve had our most beautiful sunset here. The rooms are beautifully designed, spacious and the bed is very comfortable. We’ve had breakfast, lunch and dinner every day at the restaurant and the food was delicious. Perhaps the breakfast could use a bit more variety. All the meals we had were carefully made, and we especially loved the prawn curry and mango sticky rice. The staff is super friendly, helpful and very attentive. The snorkeling trip we took with them to Koh Rok & Haa was well organized and we had a great time. Overall, I’d say you won’t go wrong by choosing Layana. It’s simply beautiful.

We stayed at Layana for 3 nights and we wished we booked to stay for longer! One of the pools was right next to the beach, or there were loungers on the beach if you want to be closer to the sea. The whole resort was kept immaculate and the staff were really friendly and helpful, they came round and kept our drinking water topped up and passed out cold towel and small snacks. I am coeliac so can’t eat gluten and they were extremely accommodating at all meals to make sure I had something available. I had gluten free bread at breakfast and lunch and tuna steaks, red snapper, curry and ribs at dinner. The dinner we had was incredible, and reasonably priced for such a high end resort. The rooms were spacious, well designed and conveniently located just a few minutes max from the pool/beach. We used the paddle boards that were provided for free as well as the bikes where Thad took us on a sunrise tour, he was brilliant. Thanks Thad! If anyone wants a luxurious stay in a beautiful setting with friendly and welcoming staff, then Layana is the place for you. Thanks for having us, we hope to visit again

A Quiet Adults-only hotel on the beach

We had been recommended to stay at the Layana - and we were looking forward to staying 5 x nights and had pre-paid for the accommodation. Unfortunately when we arrived, it wasn't what we expected. It's a small boutique hotel, which we really love, and it's right on the beach, but the pool area is so tiny and all crammed in, all daybeds are right next to each other, looking across a very small pool directly at each other, and they are all in the shade and there's not enough for the 53 rooms of the hotel. There are about 8 daybeds on the beach, but these are all taken very quickly before breakfast so you need to get up early and grab one. There is an outdoor lounge next to the pool, and a small smoking open-area next to that - so there isn't a lot of grounds/space around the pool to get sun, relax, have privacy and not sit on top of another couple. Being an Adults only hotel is what we wanted, but we found most of the guests were return guests and knew each other and had their designated lounges and it felt very orchestrated, and also very crammed in without much choice. It's a beautiful hotel, the grounds are lovely, and the rooms are fine - even though we were placed at the very back of the hotel and didn't get an outside garden area with daybeds. The breakfast was incredible, great quality and lots of choice - but again, you have to try and get a table in the shade as everyone has already taken their favourite table, so if you don't get there early - you sit in the sun whilst eating. Not being able to find a sun lounge to spend the day or a breakfast table felt very rushed and pre-planned, so we didn't feel relaxed. We actually checked out 3 x days early and went to another hotel. We think the Layana would suit an older couple looking for quiet time in the shade and are ok with a small pool area and restaurant area. From the moment we got off the plane into a Layana luxury car then onto a very comfortable Layana speed boat then a few steps on beautiful Long Beach into Layana Resort & Spa I was in heaven. The manager and staff so friendly and helpful. Accomodation beautiful, comfortable and so clean. The pools were fantastic. The food was delicious the cocktails were yum. But the best part was the quietness. I will definitely be back.

Luxury on Koh Lanta

Just returned from a wonderful holiday at this beautiful hotel. The location on Koh Lanta Long Beach is fantastic and the rooms and pool were great. The bedrooms are beautifully kept and all of the staff go out of their way to help in any way they can. The breakfast buffet is fantastic and we ate several times in the restaurant in the evenings both from their 'set dinner's' and À la carte and found the food to be extremely good. We especially enjoyed the White Party night and buffet and our favourite part of the day was during Happy Hour watching the most stunning sunsets. It is great that they offer outings (at a cost) and we all enjoyed the snorkelling full day boat trip especially the lunch set up on the most beautiful beach I have ever seen with crystal clear waters. I was lucky enough to be treated to a Mother's Day massage by my daughters in the Spa and it was absolutely heavenly. This was a special family holiday, to celebrate our daughter's engagement and came at the end of her 6 months travelling so we all really enjoyed the luxury and the rest. Thank you Layana
