8.0We have stayed at this property in the past this time we stayed in a different room, which was a little smaller than we had been used to .. but Everything was clean and neat. We did like the patio outdoors off our room. The bathroom had a shower stall, no tub which was fine with us. It’s a lovely rustic period house. Loved that a private parking lot was provided as parking is very limited. Breakfast was good and the couple who run this B&B r very nice & knowledgeable about the area activities. Easy walking to bars/restaurants, downtown area, shopping.

10.0Samuel Durfee was lovely. Heather and Mike are such great hosts and made us feel like we were at home. This is what we were looking for as an alternative to a hotel so we really appreciated it. We would stay again without hesitation.

10.0Delightful place, within walking distance of so much! Room was charming and the innkeepers were gracious. You didn’t see them, but when you needed them- there they were! Delicious, generous breakfast in a quaint setting. We’ll definitely go back!

10.0A last minute trip to Newport for our 1 year wedding anniversary and we were lucky enough to be able to book the last available room at the Samuel Durfee House. This is an absolute gem of a bed and breakfast so if you have the opportunity, definitely take it. The location is perfect, they have private parking for guests and you can easily walk to Thames St for dinner, shopping, sunset sails etc. The breakfast is so so delicious, every morning offering you a piece of coffee cake of sorts with your coffee to start and then giving you a choice of savory and sweet for your meal (think quiche, frittata, pancakes, French toast, etc etc). Found out this husband and wife team have run this charming B&B for 25 years and are complete professionals. Both lovely people who make sure their guests have everything they need. Thank you Heather and Michael for an awesome stay :)

10.0This place was great! Heather and Michael were very hospitable. From check-in to dinner suggestions to the delicious breakfasts, everything was just what we had hoped for. Being one block back from Thames St the inn was nice and quiet. The location is fantastic for walking to everything Newport has to offer. Other than our drive down Ocean Ave and to the start of Cliff Walk, we left the car parked all weekend long.
