Dirty and Loud.

4.0

The room was very dirty and very dated. Sheets were dirty. TV didn’t work. Lock on the door would not work with the keycard. The other guests were yelling down the hallway in the middle of the night. The guy that checked us in was very nice. We were very disappointed and decided not to eat breakfast.

Do not stay here!

2.0

The room was a shambles! The initial lock wouldn’t lock. Front desk attendant would not change rooms for me! Instead, he showed me how The deadbolt had to be jiggled, juggled, pulled, tugged to get it to turn. Several tiles in the shower were broken and missing. And the soap dish was broken. The coat rack was so loose and ready to fall! Two of the lamps lacked shades having bare bulbs only. The sink faucet jiggled so much it was a struggle to turn on the water. There was a chifferobe that looked ancient and had hangers there from prior travelers. A bath chair was in the shower as it was an accessible room; there were stains on it that looked like poop and pubic hairs left on it. Holes in the cover on the bed. Boyfriend laid down on the bed trying to ignore all the issues and started itching terribly. He jumped up and said, “let’s get out of here!” Was a real struggle to open the door to get out due to all the jiggling and tugging and lifting to lock the deadbolt. i was ready to call 911 to rescue us from the room! Furious is the nicest word I can find to describe my mood when we left! There was no respect, no remorse, no asking to make it right made by front desk personnel.

Loudest and dirtest motel i have ever stayed in.

2.0

This hotel sas horrible in so many ways. Rooms were so uncleam the floors were sticky not carpet but cheap wood floors rooms had broken locks and latches. Toilet seat wasnt attached. Windows are ground level and had no locks set correctly. On top of that the noise level will keep you up all night with a new DJ playing their favorite music all night long in the rooms next to you.

Motel or a Homeless Shelter?

2.0

I have been using Super 8 Motels for at least 30 years, and have always been satisfied. That all changed on Thursday, May 23rd. We arrived at your property in Spartanburg, SC late in the evening. Even upon arrival, we were concerned with a group of shirtless males who appeared to be partying in their vehicle, with the doors wide open, in the Motel parking lot just to the right of the main entrance. The check in process went very smooth, and the clerk was polite, but that was the only positive in the entire experience. We had to initial a document that verified we would not be smoking in the room. This was not an issue as we have never smoked. This would give you the impression that the room would be a non-smoking room. When we entered the room, there was a distinct smell of stale cigarette smoke. We also noticed 2 cigarette burn marks on the bedspread. There was a plug deodorizer in a wall plug that did nothing to mask the stench in the room. The floor in the room was absolutely filthy and turned the bottoms of our feet black. There was only one bath towel, and only a partial roll of toilet paper. There were only two pillows available for the bed, and they were wafer thin (1 ½”). After getting into our room we had to go get a suitcase from the trunk of our car. It was at the opposite end of the property, as we were not comfortable parking near the car of partying young males. We decided to use the stairwell. We couldn’t enter because of another group of young males were partying in the stairwell. We then went to the elevator. The garbage container by the elevator on the 2nd floor was overflowing, and someone had spilled a sticky liquid all over the floor in front of the elevator. To add insult to injury, the next morning I was getting off the elevator on the ground floor where a young employee was mopping the floor. He immediately gave me attitude for stepping on his clean floor. There was no way to avoid this, so I asked him “what would you like me to do, fly over it?”. He responded back to “calm down, bro”. Let’s get something perfectly clear, I am not his “Bro”, I am a paying customer, and I expect to be treated with respect and courtesy. When we are travelling, we are not expecting the Taj Mahal. We simply want a clean, quite room with a proper supply of the basic essentials. This property failed in every single regard, and the stay felt more like we were at a homeless shelter, complete with people who were most probably doing drugs in the common areas of the property. Reading the online reviews for this property, it seems I am far from alone. Does Corporate Mgmt. not care about the serious damage to the image and the brand? This experience makes me reluctant to stay at another Super 8 property, and moreover, given the low standard of care, I would be inclined to select non-Wyndham Properties when provided a choice going forward.

The worst ever keep away from this place

2.0

The very worst I have ever been in. Took three different rooms to find one that had a lock that worked. The place was dirty dog poop on the floor that I cleaned up. Never again will I stay at a super 8, there were no other choices as a very bad storm had come through and everything was booked.
