The breakfast was not even available after 9 or 9:30, I was not happy about that

− It doesn't seem managed well, many employees were new and not to helpful and showed little interest in their jobs. The Villa Roma has lost that community feeling, that PA system and those host people that gathered the people to do activities around the resort. Other people that have been going there for years can notice the downward drop in service, since the sale of the resort.

Website and photos are EXTREMELY misleading. Front lobby presentation was great but hallways/rooms were very run down and old. Door did not lock properly and had metal key (loose in door frame). High school groups literally running all over, loud drunk golfers partying w room doors opened to hallway. Pools closed at 5pm in June despite website saying open until 10pm. Much of the area was surrounded by caution tape and appeared not usable. We ended up having to switch hotels so we would feel safe to sleep and get the rest we needed to work as we were there on business. I will be surprised if the place stays open under current management. They also charged my personal credit card $300 for incidentals on a 5 night stay which was rightly refunded.

The staff were very friendly and welcoming throughout our stay. Housekeeping did a great job — they removed the trash and refreshed the towels regularly, even though we only stayed for two days. Everything was clean and well maintained. The kitchen staff were especially pleasant, and the employees in the entertainment areas were also friendly and helpful. Overall, we felt very welcome and enjoyed our stay.

− We visited during an unusually cold and rainy period. It would have been wonderful if the indoor pool had been available, as swimming was one of the main activities our children were looking forward to. Despite the weather, we still enjoyed our stay.

Poor, misleading, disappointing

Our stay was very disappointing, especially considering how expensive it was. While we expected the property to be somewhat dated based on the photos on Booking.com, the actual condition was much worse than anticipated. The room felt old and musty, the furniture was very outdated, and our door would not latch properly unless it was deadbolted from the inside. The photos on Booking.com were misleading and did not accurately represent the property. The check-in process was not smooth. We booked two rooms for our family based on the listing photos, but when we arrived, our rooms had been assigned far apart on the same floor instead of near each other. We also discovered that one of the rooms was an efficiency suite with two separate sleeping areas, which was not clearly represented in the listing. Had this been made clear, we likely would not have needed to book a second room. Another disappointment was that there was no complimentary breakfast, despite our expectations. We did eat breakfast one morning at the Garden Café, but it was extremely understaffed, and we waited nearly two hours for our food. Finding our rooms was confusing due to the layout, and the signage was not helpful. We had also hoped to spend time at the pool, but many guests had “claimed” chairs by leaving their belongings on them, making it nearly impossible to find a place to sit and enjoy the area. The only staff members who provided friendly and helpful service were the security team, housekeeping, and the shuttle bus driver. Unfortunately, the rest of the staff did not demonstrate much hospitality, which added to our overall disappointment. Overall, this stay did not provide the value we expected for the price we paid. Between the misleading listing, poor room conditions, lackluster service, and multiple inconveniences, we left very dissatisfied and will not be returning.
