Very bad stay in hotel
2.0I want to warn everyone who is considering staying at Congress Hotel in Vilnius — our experience was not just disappointing, it was genuinely dangerous. The hotel completely ignores basic safety measures. Ice and snow are NOT cleared from the roof. Massive chunks of ice are hanging there freely and can fall at any moment. And unfortunately, this is not just a figure of speech — during the night, a large block of ice fell from the roof onto our car in the hotel’s paid parking area. The vehicle suffered severe damage. The damage is so serious that the car now has to be transported by tow truck back to Estonia. This means enormous expenses, stress, and a completely ruined trip. What is even more frightening is that the ice could have fallen not on the car, but on a person. We were unloading our belongings from the trunk, walking to and from the car, heading to our room. Any one of us could have been standing there when that ice came down. This is no longer about comfort — this is a real threat to life and safety. Adding to the outrage is the fact that the parking is PAID. You pay money for a parking space where your vehicle is not only unprotected but actually exposed to direct danger. There were no warning signs, no barriers, and no visible efforts to ensure guests’ safety. Such negligence toward guest safety is absolutely unacceptable. The hotel is responsible for maintaining the building properly, especially during winter. This is a basic duty, not an optional service. Our trip is ruined, the financial damage is significant, and all trust is completely lost. I strongly advise everyone not to risk their property — and more importantly, their lives.
A/ Heating fan was a joke
6.0The overall experience wasn’t to bad as we were attended to with haste. It was cold and we couldn’t turn on the A/C heating, staff told us that it’s turned off during winter which makes no sense. There was also false advertising on amenities such as a pool and gym, staff told us to go elsewhere.
Nice Hotel in Great Location
8.0Very nice hotel in a prime location! Looking out my window, I could see the Stalin's Finger Building and the big shopping area. For being in the center of town, it was remarkably quiet. My room itself was very nice with plenty of electrical outlets, but it was on the small side. Also, the room was warm, and I could not get it to cool down. The windows are locked so that you can only open them about two inches and no breeze or fresh air comes in. The breakfast buffet was very nice. We kept getting lost, though, and for some reason it was hard to find our way back to the hotel for the first day and a half. I would definitely return to this hotel if I have the opportunity to return.
Very disappointing stay – poor customer service
2.0Very disappointing stay – poor customer service We booked a room for 4 people (2 adults, a 6-year-old, and an 8-month-old baby). On arrival, we were given a room with only one double bed and a cot — no extra bedding or space for our 6-year-old. When I went to reception to sort it out, Alexandra told me it was “normal” for a child to sleep with the parents, even though our booking clearly showed 4 guests. She offered no solution and said it was my fault, and that we’d need to pay extra if we wanted a bed for our child. We decided to pay extra and moved to a suite. However, that room had a double bed and a sofa bed, but no cot for the baby this time. When we called reception, they said there were no cots available. I even suggested bringing the one from our previous room, but they refused. This whole experience was very frustrating. I have stayed in many hotels before and never experienced such unhelpful service. Coming back to Lithuania from the UK after 8 years, I was really disappointed to see that the level of customer care hasn’t improved. Definitely not what you expect from a 4-star hotel.
Pleasant Stay
8.0Be aware there are steps from the sidewalk to the hotel entrance. Spacious room. Comfortable bed. Tea making facilities. Fridge. Inroom safe. Wifi good. Aircon ok. Could be a few more hangers. Lack of drawer space. Walk-in shower with good water pressure with shampoo & shower gel dispensers. Soap dispenser at basin. Hairdryer. Nice hot & cold buffet breakfast with eggs & bacon/sausage, ham & cheese, rolls, croissants, cereals, fruit, tea & a decent coffee machine. No draught beer in the bar. Exit hotel left & sights, restaurants, bars & shops a short walk away. ***************************************
