Delicious and beautiful
10.0Breakfast was AMAZING
Historic and serene
10.0This atmospheric and serene hotel is the former home of Prince Souvanna Phoum, and that reflects in the details of this heritage hotel as well. The lush garden gives shade from the surrounding noise, the clean pool cools and soothes your body and mind. The hotel is totally plastic-free! Rooms, though a little bit dark, are kept very clean and the poolside breakfast is deliscious. They have learned to make the eggs benedict without a hint of vinegar, and that tasted yummy! And of course my top points go to the sweet and helpful staff who were always present with a warm smile. Ms Kham at the spa is a very confident and professional masseuse, used her services twice. The hotel itself is on the main street, the night market and the town centre with all the shops and restaurants and wonderful temples is in walking distance. The hotel also offers free biciles but I preferred a 10-15 min walk to the sights. There is also a temple next doors to the hotel if you are willing to attend the early morning almsgiving. Oh, and I found a wonderful book in my room drawer that walks you through the historical sights of Luang Prabang! I spent five nights in this lovely hotel and I warmly recommend it.
− Be careful when opening the sealed drinking water bottles that are provided in the room. I was clumsy enough opening them and cut into my fingers with the aluminium ribbon.

10.0As the name says, this atmospheric and serene hotel is the former home of Prince Souvanna Phoum, the prime minister of Laos who negotiated Lao independence from France. Great place to stay at Luang Prabang
10.0Outstanding personel. Always ready to assist and always with a smile. Clean and silent bedroom with king size bed.enjoyed the breakfasts and they coffee. We had An fantastic stay.
Not bad, but overpriced. Old design with outdated furniture and TV.
5.0Good location
− Pillows, room size, overpriced for this type of hotel - many other options with better quality and better price. Smell of fresh paint. AC was having issue from time to time (reported to FO team at check out).
A great wrap up to my exploratory visit to NE Laos - staying at the Homm Souvannaphoum
10.0This was my first trip back to Luang Prabang in 14 years so I was anxious to see the changes since my last trip. I had previously stayed at the Villa Sante, but this time my operator selected Homm Souvannaphoum, formerly the private home of Prince Souvanna Phouma. He chose well. The hotel is exquisite with French architectural features. My room was large, well appointed and quiet. The front desk staff was very efficient and helpful. I only stayed for two nights so my experience was limited for the dining room. However, the breakfast buffet was embellished with many offerings both Lao and western choices. My only suggestion concerns the breakfast area itself. While I was there, a large group was allowed to conduct morning stretch to amplified music in the dining area. While this may appeal to some guests, it distracted from the peaceful atmosphere. The hotel might consider relocating this type of activity to a separate space, so that the dining experience remain relaxing for everyone. This is only my opinion and I certainly do not blame the hotel or their staff. Overall, this was an amazing stay worthy of my five star review. KZFung
