Disappointing stay – noise, hygiene issues and poor resolution

2.0

Stayed at Royal Mirage Agadir recently and unfortunately had a very disappointing experience. From the first night, there was significant noise and light coming through a connecting door with another room, which made it very difficult to sleep. The issue was reported, but the room change was only arranged for the following day, meaning two nights were affected. In addition, I found a cockroach in the bathroom, which raises serious concerns about hygiene standards. The toilet system was also malfunctioning and making loud noise during the night, including early morning hours. While the staff offered a room change, the issues had already impacted the stay. Attempts to resolve the situation afterwards were unsuccessful, with responsibility being passed between the hotel and the booking platform. Overall, the experience did not match expectations, especially in terms of comfort and cleanliness.

It is not 4 star and not all inclusive hotel

6.0

I was amazed by the tremendous changes in Agadir as I had visited 3 times before( 10 years ago). There are a lot of palms, flowers and green lawns. There are new roads and a lot of new block of flats. Agadir people very friendly and polite. But… I stayed at 4 star Royal Mirage Agadir all inclusive and had a warmhearted welcome by Fatima. But I was shocked by the old, stained non-ironed beddings and when I complained they changed them to the same once. The built in wardrobe/ closet was dusty with horrible unpainted walls and I didn’t bother to put my dresses in( I kept them on the second bed). When I complained , the cleaner dusted the floor of the wardrobe only. It looks they have shortage of towels: they take used ones in the morning but they bring fresh ones in the evening: problem with laundry.. My beddings haven’t been changed for the whole week, by the way. And my room wasn’t cleaned for the first three days at all. But upon my request they emptied the bin. There was no fridge but as soon as I complained they brought it but no drinks on all inclusive. I complained again and 4 x 330 ml bottles of water were brought in the room for the whole week. Every time you want some water, you need to go to the bar and they politely give you a small bottle or two, but if you want Fanta or Cola they give you just a glass. There was one cooler in the restaurant with drinking horrible water( even the waiters admit it). When you come for a meal there are no drinks which you can help yourself and you need to ask a waiter to bring you( one potion). I have never seen such” all inclusive “ hotel. The food was simple : 1 chicken, 1beef, 1 fish, 1 pasta, 1 rice, 1 potatoes, 1 cooked assortment of vegetables and a lot of salads and cakes, just what I like. There were no any entertainment in the hotel but there were reconstructions and building some new pools and restaurants. Not a nice surroundings. So, if you are prepared to ask for everything( even meal times - I was told to make a photo of restaurant door notice) ,have no access to soft drinks and water on all inclusive basis, to go to the banks or other hotels to change money , then this hotel is for you. I have a feeling that they don’t know what 4 star hotel should look life. The customer service is non existent there. The only positive thing is very polite staff with smiles on their faces.

A very pleasant stay with the best view in Agadir!

8.0

After reading the reviews as you can appreciate myself and my friend were very sceptical booking the Royal Mirage, but with the location being so good we had to see for ourselves. As we arrived the hotel looked very clean and presentable we were welcomed by lovely staff Hassan who helped us with our bags, reception staff and Fati - Guest Relations who was definitely the beautiful heartbeat of the hotel. We were given welcome drinks despite only booking B&B. We booked the sea view room which gave us the most stunning view of the mountain and we watched the sunset into the sea from our balcony each evening. I have stayed at the best of the best hotel in Agadir but I have never had this view! The rooms were cleaned and beds madeup everyday. They are a small team of dedicated staff who will take your towels in the morning, wash and replace by the afternoon so please be patient. The breakfast was a simple buffet of fresh pastries and the fresh msemen (paratha) and a fresh omelette station made by the sweetest ladies Fatima and Kareema who were always smiling and welcoming, aswell as the hardworking waiters. The pool was perfect, very clean and well maintained, although there is construction of two new pools ongoing but this didn’t bother us. Due to an issue with the fire alarm Fati kindly compensated us with an amazing sauna session within the hotel. We were amazed as to how professional the sauna/spa set up was and spa staff Hasna was lovely. We left feeling very relaxed and happy. I would like to remind anyone who is considering booking that this is an old hotel and we booked this as a budget friendly hotel so please do not expect anymore than this. Despite this, it was very well maintained by lovely hardworking staff and we will definitely stay again.

Disappointed and will not recommend, nor will return

2.0

This is the 2nd night with no sleep in this hotel, the noise from the club next door & the base that seems to be permeating through the very foundations of the building. We are on the 4th floor but may as well be on the ground. Noise from the street, so clearly not any soundproofing has been thought through. This is not a 4 star Hotel in any shape or form. We had to ask 3 times for a fridge for drinks storage, there are no facilities to make a hot drink in the room, no cups. The WiFi is laughable, you have to stand in certain areas in the room to get any kind of reception if you are lucky, we had better luck in local cafes than here. The toilet constantly leaks so had to turn off at the tap as it was like water torture,  apparently the hotel is being renovated,  so why give out a room if its not fit for purpose? We've stayed in Agadir before,  this is by far the worst choice & I would avoid at all costs.

We were treated very badly me and my husband the staff were extremely rude, the room was bad …

2.0

Very disappointing experience. We were ignored for nearly an hour with no communication, then spoken to disrespectfully by staff who clearly lacked professionalism. Instead of handling things properly, they argued and blamed each other in front of us. The room was average at best, separate beds for a married couple and 3 channels in tv, and absolutely not worth the price. To make things worse, their partner offer seems to restrict reviews on Booking very telling. We ended up checking out after just 2 hours because of the behaviour, and no one cared in fact, they seemed happy to see us leave.Would not recommend. Worst in Agadir.

If I Could Score Lower I Would - AVOID

2.0

If I Could Score Lower I Woukd - AVOID Where do I start? Pool area was half a building site. Balcony door did not shut properly so quite noisy at night due to the main road adjacent to the hotel. Shower pulsates hot and cold, toilet would not stop filling, no tea and coffee in the room, no fridge in the room, pool towels looked like they had been used for the past 10 years on their pets, poolside toilets looked like something out of the latter days at Glastonbury. All inclusive meant no proper beer supplies for the duration of our stay, and when asked about the 'premium' beer, was told to pay more. Food, god, apart from breakfast, which was passible mainly due to the lovely waiter, bread lady and omlettes, the rest was a cross between 70s holiday camp and primary school dinners. Definately not 4 star or even one come to think of it. Absolutely terrible. Pics of the last night's feast are on here, but the evening meals in the vast restaurant were not well attended, apart from mangey cats who pestered you throughout your attempt at eating what was there. Most of the dishes were recognisable from day to day as they were used and reused till they could not get away from using the food any longer WiFi not available in the rooms, but was OK round the pool and in the lobby, though you needed it as there was absolutely nothing laid on to entertain, apart from the sounds of building works during the day, and badly maintained vehicles at night. Overall, quite disappointed with Agadir. Though clean (despite initial views of excessive rubbish in fiekds) at one restaurant we were informed that there was no cous cous! Most restaurant food was quite bland, not the exotic mix of spices I was expecting, but in all fairness was relatively cheap. There was not much to do in the evening, not many bars with entertainment or even football on the tv, and though generally the we had quite good weather, it was a bit nippy after sunset. Still, it was a few days away with my lovely wife and away from the stresses of kids and work.
