Nice place friendly
8.0Lovely place well maintained. Stayed in a villa and it was spacious with plenty of bathrooms. Parking wasn’t great. Waterpark had a good amount of rides. The workers and life guards were very good and friendly. Concession stand was good with decent pricing. My only complaint was the water temperature….The toddlers lips were blue. A couple screw degrees would help.
Jess is the most unprofessional restaurant manager, I have ever encountered
2.0My family friends and I decided to book a one night stay at the hotel. The hotel and the waterpark we’re both amazing and the atmosphere was overall perfect. The waterpark closes at 8pm which is kind of early but once the waterpark closed we decided to go eat on the rocks restaurant. I understand that the restaurant closed at 9 PM and we went an hour before closed, but the service was overall very disappointing. It took us a while to get waited on and once we did, we didn’t receive any napkins any silverware and no refills. It constantly felt like we had to ask our server for something if we could get a hold of him. It was almost like we had to hunt him down I think total he only came back to the table once or twice my fiancé ordered a prime rib. It came out and he took one bite and said it tasted more like a ham he decided to take one more bite and decided he wanted to talk to somebody about taking a back. He went and found a girl named Jess. Just then argued with him about the prime rib saying that it was a cut of steak and that’s what it looked like and how they do it at the restaurant. She finally said that she would be able to take 20% off for his prime rib other than waiting another 10 to 15 minutes for our bill. The server dropped off our bill and then never came back. I checked over the bill and realized that the 20% was not taken off and then had to walk back up to the bar where our server was and mentioned that Jess said that she would be taking a percentage off of our bill by the time the server got Jess. My fiancé, then found the hotel manager the hotel manager picked up their prime rib and then met Jess in the hallway where it felt like they were laughing and talking about us. Our server then came back and told us that he took off the 20% and that two drinks around the house after grabbing our drinks we decided to head back to our room and as we were walking back to our room, we passed by the other restaurant and just was staring out mean, mugging us as we were walking by . I’m very upset because this is a very good hotel but Jess took a huge toll on our vacation. I’m very upset with her customer service . Moral of the story the hotel / water park was great but the customer service From Jess at On the rocks bar & grill was not great .
Nightmare!!
2.0Absolute nightmare. Our room door was deadbolted and we couldn’t get in. Front desk had no idea what to do and offered no help. After calling the police, we finally got another room, with no access to our belongings or my emergency medication. No food, no water, not even a toothbrush provided. My kids and I had to sleep in our clothes because maintenance wasn’t available until the next day. Completely unprofessional and unacceptable. Never again.

10.0Nice property right on the water
Let down, yet again
2.0WORST FOOD EVER and even worse wait staff for my 40th birthday dinner. Not one single person enjoyed their food. Meals came out cold, under cooked, sloppy and cheaply put together. Quite frankly we will never eat at the restaurants here again along with our entire group. Everyone spent money on food that should have been taken back. I do not think the cooks are capable of gourmet food as was described to me when I decided to have the dinner at the resort. We were the ONLY people in the entire restaurant, there were 2 waitresses and they could not be more rude or incapable of handling our group. It seems that their is no leadership able to train and run this establishment at a level where they claim to be. I was embarrassed by the service and putting my family and friends through this experience. Money down the drain. Our captain suite was ill kept. I had housekeeping come as soon as we got there to vacuum and take out trash that was clearly left behind by previous guests. For the price we were charged, walking into this suite was a huge disappointment for my entire family. The upholstered couch and chair I wouldn't even sit in because of the stains and smell. It's so run down and a complete eye sore. I brought my own cleaning sprays and wiped everything down including the fridge that was also left untouched from the previous guests. We were married here and continue to come multiple times a year for birthdays, celebrations and anniversaries and everytime there are more and more issues and disappointments. The owner has this property on Lake Michigan and that is the only reason why we come. I don't even think the owner would pay money to stay here.
desperately needs a full renovation and much better upkeep
2.0I’m honestly shocked that people give this place 5 stars. This was our first stay, and unfortunately it will likely be our last unless major updates are made. The rooms were outdated and dirty. Our shower soap dispensers were empty (we discovered this mid-shower), and housekeeping had to come refill them. The pull-out couch was full of crumbs and food from a previous guest—absolutely gross. Everything just gave you that “ick” feeling. The waterpark was the biggest disappointment. Mold, rust, algae, and dirt were everywhere, especially in high-traffic areas. Some of the rust was so bad it’s literally eating through the metal. It didn’t feel safe or sanitary at all, and I honestly don’t know how it passes inspection. The food was extremely overpriced and very limited. The breakfast buffet was $20 per person for just a handful of items. You’re better off going to one of the many nearby restaurants. Bottom line: If you can look past the cleanliness and outdated facilities, the concept itself is fun. But at this price point, I expect a clean, safe, and sanitary resort—especially when it’s marketed as a family destination. It’s a shame, because the place has potential, but it desperately needs a full renovation and much better upkeep. Until then, I can’t recommend it.
The seasonal pool will be open from May 24 to September 02.
