It was my 65th birthday celebration and it was lovely! I should have stayed an extra day.
9.0The partial ocean view room was lovely and very spacious. Kimono robes and slippers were a nice touch, and the continental breakfast was just enough to satisfy you before heading downtown. The hotel staff was very friendly and helpful!
− The room had an unusual smell upon entering. We threw open the patio door to a nice, cool breeze, which helped mitigate the smell.
Beautiful, clean, and accommodating
10.0Beautiful boutique hotel walkable to everything in downtown Carmel. Staff was welcoming and accommodating (I requested extra toiletries, room coffee/teas and condiments, which they obliged). Our room view was great and cozy. Even though the hotel is not air conditioned (which is common for the area), it’s airy and wonderful to have the balcony screen door and windows open. The room never got hot or humid and the working fireplace is a nice touch. Grounds are well maintained and room was especially clean and well decorated. I can’t say enough good things about the morning breakfast basket brought to our door...it was beautifully presented, delicious & just enough to kickstart our mornings. I wouldn’t change a thing & would definitely book again. Thanks, TradeWinds! It made my husband’s 40th birthday trip especially memorable! -Room 19, July 6-8

10.0We had an amazing stay at this hotel. The room was spacious, spotless, and very comfortable. The bed was excellent, and the entire property was quiet, relaxing, and beautifully maintained. One of the highlights was the complimentary breakfast, which was freshly prepared and delivered directly to our room each morning—a wonderful touch that made our stay even more enjoyable. The staff were warm, professional, and always willing to help. The hotel also offers Tesla charging stations, which was incredibly convenient for our road trip. The location is perfect, just minutes from Carmel Beach, restaurants, and the famous 17-Mile Drive. We couldn’t have asked for a better experience and would definitely stay here again.

Heartfelt Hospitality on the top of the Hill
10.0The staff was outstanding and consistently accommodating to any requests or inquiries made before and during our stay. The convenience of being able to walk to town and (a bit longer) stroll through the storied streets to the beach was wonderful. Daily morning breakfasts were a nice, simple way to start the day. Parking was always available and the room was a wonderful place for us to rest and recharge for our many adventures. A great first time visit to Carmel, likely won’t be our last in part on account of the hospitality of Tradewinds.
