We have been coming here for a number of years and have always enjoyed our trip. Starting last year the sargassum took over the beach. It was much worse this year. Even though a guy with a tractor makes a valiant effort every morning to clean up the mess, it continues to accumulate. The week we have been here, there has been no effort to set up the beach chairs etc because of the mess. According to the staff, guests are way down because of it. If you are interested in beach and beach activities, you are going to have to go elsewhere. Very sad because the staff is very nice. Rooms are clean and comfortable.

Bug Infestation - Hotel refused to fix

Our room at Oyster Bay Beach Resort was infested with ants at check-in. Management acknowledged the infestation in writing — their proposed fix was to spray chemicals in the room and have us keep staying in it. We left the same day. The manager verbally agreed we could leave with a refund, then later refused, offering only 50% because we "chose not to stay" in an infested room. We've spent days trying to resolve this through our travel agent and Expedia with no cooperation. Photos and email documentation of everything. If something goes wrong with your room here, don't expect the property to make it right.

The resort is clean and well maintained. The staff goes above and beyond to make your stay that much more enjoyable. Wanda at the pool kept us fed and hydrated. Pepper at the activities desk kept us entertained all week long. We ate in all 3 restaurants on site. We found the food far better on site then any restaurant we went to off site. I highly recommend eating at the resort restaurants. Definitely a place where i will go back to....
