The location must be one of Tuscany's best kept secrets and now we have discovered it we will be telling all! Incredibly beautiful region, misty and mythical, full of surprises especially the wildlife. Surrounded by picturesque unspoilt vineyards, lush woodlands and gentle organic olive groves. Our sights and sounds stimulated by the smells and scenery enveloping us, quiet and gentle rolling hills. We were greeted warmly on arrival by Massimiliano and Cristina excellent hosts and full of knowledge and tips! The farmhouse is rustic and divided into small cottages/apartments all individual, the grounds are encompassed by olive groves and vineyards. The sea water pool was refreshing and as you take a dip you take in the beautiful scenery all around you. You need a car to stay here and appreciate the surrounding area, it is an easy drive from Florence and Sienna is nearby with everything you need and more. We visited many places Monteriggioni, Sienna, San Gimignano, Pienzza, Montepulciano to name a few, all within driving distances. I highly recommend you spend longer than our week here to saturate yourself in the experience and enjoy local food and hospitality. We visited a nearby 700 year old family vineyard for a fabulous wine tasting experience put Bindi Sergardi on a must visit and ask for Lorena . In Sienna we sat in the main square Piazza de campo in Cafe Nannini where we tried the local pastries, agrofato , coffee and aperol spritz whilst watching the square alive with people lovely to soak up the atmosphere. We recommend a whole day in San Gimigano so much to see and do, buy the pass for the Duomo and museums you will not be disappointed! Nearby are the various locations for the film Gladiator and Twilight. At Cristina's recommendation we ate local on our last night and had a feast! wild hare, veal steak, aubergine, Pasta Do try La Taverna Le Vagliagli the chef is shy but his cuisine is divine and the atmosphere local and friendly.

Perfecte plek om te verblijven in Toscane

Erg vriendelijke eigenaren en prachtig gelegen complex. Toen we aangaven dat het bed hard was kregen we meteen een topper aangeboden!

Hemelse rust

Rust is het sleutelwoord voor een verblijf hier. Helemaal weggestopt op de flank van een heuvel in de schaduw van een 13de eeuws kasteel dat ook de meeste wijngaarden rondom bezit. Vanuit het fantastische zwembad heb je een van de mooiste panoramische zichten op de omgeving en Siena is slechts 12 km rijden. ‘S avonds zie je in aanpalende weiden herten en wilde varkens grazen.

− In het aanpalende verblijf was een huilbaby en die hebben we elke keer gehoord in onze slaapkamer Gelukkig reizen we steeds met oordopjes.

A tranquil hidden gem in Tuscany

This was the perfect stay for us as 2 couples traveling, looking for calm surroundings in beautiful Tuscany not far from the hustle ans bustle of city Siena. Loved the pool! Loved the owners and their hospitality! A tranquil hidden gem. We enjoyed lazy days by the pool, and evenings in Vagliagli or Siena. Meeting other guests and making friends.
