Spotless hotel in a great location
8.0This hotel is in a great location right across from the beach. The outside area looks out to sea which is lovely when sunbathing or having a drink on the terrace. I had a room for sole use with a side sea view. It was exceptionally cleam, very spacious and comfortable. It was cleaned every day and thd housekeeping staff were very friendly. The only suggestion I would make is not to put clean towels on such a high rack as I really struggled to reach them. Reception staff were very helpful and friendly and the whole hotel area was very nicely presented. Two out of the 3 nights we watched the entertainment were worthwhile. Whilst there are lots of choices in the restaurant, I am vegan so found dinner particularly difficult. Even pasta was cooked with eggs so all I had to choose from was veg ( often sprouts!) and plain salad. Dessert was always fruit as despite having several cakes not one could be made without eggs. If you are vegan I would say to just have bed and breakfast and go out for dinner, although it's not much different in town!
Don Pablo Torremolinos - All inclusive - Superior Room Extra
6.0Hotel overall: Really good Negatives: I paid extra for a Superior Room, which according to the website should include a dressing gown and slippers. On arrival, I had to raise this with reception, as these were not provided. I was then told this was a mistake on the Meliá website and that the only benefit of the upgrade was a kettle. Eventually, dressing gowns and flip‑flops were given, but it felt as though this was done as a favour rather than something included in what I had thought I had paid for. Additionally, the tea and coffee condiments in the room were not replenished daily. This wasn’t a major issue as we were all‑inclusive, but it would have been nice to be able to have a coffee or tea while getting ready in the morning. Positives: The all‑inclusive package was very good, and service in March was generally fine. I do feel that during busier periods the queues could become frustrating, even though guests are allowed to collect two drinks at a time. The indoor pool was lovely and warm, outside very cold - there were plenty of sunbeds available throughout our stay, and the staff were very pleasant and friendly.
Excellent
8.0Stay Jan 16th- Mar 7th. Excellent service from receptionist who booked us in plus taking payment for our stay and car parking. We were allocated room 1318 Side seaview, gardens and pool. Room kept immaculate throughout our stay. Very quiet in corridors. Dinning experience unfortunately very busy at times. Chefs and their teams provided a fantastic array of food both cold and hot. Displayed well and pleasing on the eye. Able to swap evening meals for lunch which we did several times to avoid the evening queues. One small comment for the rare beef and seared Tuna on offer and this is a personal preference, Tuna to be cooked through and the rare beef too. The chef very kindly put the Tuna back on the hot grill for me. The waiting staff are very professional and always service with a smile, special mention for Monika and her smiley face. Many thanks to hotel manager and bartender who translated for my husband with the car mechanic. High praise for Claudia and her excellent customer relations skills. Claudia sorted out a problem for us. Hotel and grounds are kept immaculate throughout . This is a family hotel but did find that no parental control at times. Whilst parents enjoying a drink or entertainment their children were playing hide and seek or doing handstands in the lounge area. Perhaps a games room of sorts for children might be made available. We once again enjoyed our stay and thanks again to all the wonderful staff who go above and beyond.
Overrated
6.0WHY does check in take so long ? Hotel and room was nice , wifi often dropped off in the room which was annoying, there was usb plug in the room which didnt seem to work, not sure about hdmi. food was ok just not very hot sometimes. We were only there for 4 days but dont think we would return.
I payed a lot for this hotel and you have to buy your food.
8.0Good food, but nothing for diabetic persons. I have to buy my yoghurt in a shop.
Can't wait to return
8.0My husband and I stayed at this hotel last month for my birthday, we had such a great time we have booked again for next month March . I recieved a birthday card and a bottle of bubbly from the hotel which was really lovely. We were on the 8th floor with excellent sidesea views. The food in the restaurant is of a good standard something for everyone ( maybe not the pizza and chips section ). The hotel is lovely, good rooms with a kettle and tea and coffee tray. The bars and communal areas are very nice, very clean as is the whole hotel. with lovely staff from reception to barstaff and the lady who cleaned our room was lovely. The hotel is ideally situated for the beach, local bars and restaurants, San Miguel street and torremolinos town. Can't wait to go back
