A good place to stay when staying overnight between train and ferry travel

An excellent location for us in Piombino. We arrived by train and were staying there for one night before getting the ferry to Elba island. We also used it on our return from Elba island, before getting the train to Siena. The accommodation is about 100m from the train station, and close to a lot of nice places to eat. The ferry isn't too far away. We walked. Most would take a taxi/bus if not driving. We were lucky enough to get in a little earlier than check in time. Thank you, Francesca. The room we were in was very comfortable as was the bed. There was complimentary bottled water which was a nice touch. And the mini fridge was helpful. A really useful place to stay when travelling by train (or driving) before getting the ferry. An Italian breakfast was supplied. You have a voucher for a place just outside the accommodation. The room was immaculate.

− A kettle in the room would have been nice. An Italian breakfast (don't forget, you are in Italy) is basic. Essentially a sweet pastry and a coffee/tea. If that's not to your taste for breakfast then finding alternatives isn't easy. The first of our 2 nights was fine. On the night we returned from Elba island, there was a fashion show in the Piazza which our room over-looked. The music that night was loud (it's a fashion show, so that's fine). But afterwards the stage was taken down through the night - and that created a lot of noise/banging. And then early the next morning the street cleaners were noisy. I doubt that's typical of the area or people's stay... but YIKES.

Near Piombino station, but (20 min away walking from the port, if you aim for visiting Elba) Large room with wooden furniture 10 min walking away from few nice small beaches Coffee and croissant included as breakfast.

There were many stairs and with our heavy bags we almost died . But it was a lovely place to stay.

The room is in the city center, close to a walking street with restaurants, bars and the seaside.

− This rental is just 4 walls and nothing more. They do not offer any facilities for the guests. Highly overpriced even off season, as we were at the beginning of june. There is a pricing list at the entrance of the room and the prices shown on it are way to high for what they offer. You can hear everything through the walls, the stomping of the neighbors upstairs, downstairs, the staircase. As the establishment is SHARED with others, which we hated, the others passed by our room and were so loud, the first night we thought they would enter our room instead of theirs. To cover yourself during the night they offered a simple bedsheet, not even the bedcover you usually find to sleep. Just this decorative cover and under it a bedsheet. They also had to questionable fleece blankets which shouldn’t be found in such rental rooms as they are unsanitary and I didn’t trust they were cleaned after every guest. The bathroom is very small, shower barely fits a tall person, and if you turn on the sink water, the fawcet under it leaks some sort of orange brown liquid. When we left, we forgot something in the fridge, out of mistake naturally, cosmetics, and when I asked if they found something in the room the person answering the messages casually said yes. Nothing more. “Should we send them to you” “can you come get them?” etc. USUALLY WHEN GUESTS FORGET STUFF IN THE ROOM, YOU CONTACT THEM AND LET THEM KNOW THEY DID. You don’t wait for them to write (until it’s too late and they realise what’s missing) so you can keep the stuff. Maybe there was a chance for us to return to the room and get our stuff back. But no. Not the case here. Very unprofessional.
