Hot
8.0Great position and helpful staff
− It’s 38 degrees but only one fan in the room
Beautiful setting
10.0Beautiful setting. Amazing food. Lovely drinks. Great service, especially from Mohamed and the statues!! We highly recommend playing doble on the terrace.
Dissappointing - would not recommend
4.0The property is situated in a quiet area close to the M4, in open grounds with lots of attractive greenery. Car parking was plentiful. Bathroom was clean and water was hot on demand. Staff were helpful.
− The property was very dated; much more so than the pictures let on. The windows were broken and couldn’t be opened properly and given it was a summer it caused me to request a room change which was only slightly better. There was no fridge or phone in the room. The lamps had broken switches and the net curtains were so creased, it really showed how poor the upkeep was. The cleaners didn’t get to our room until 4PM (they were apologetic and clearly short staffed) by which time we returned from our day out and decided to forgo cleaning for that day. There are 2 floors with no lifts which was a challenge with luggage transfer. Overall, I was disappointed as the price of other much better quality hotels I previously stayed at in the area were no different. I chose Mercure because I have stayed in their hotels previously with good experience and it was slightly closer to my relatives house than other well reputed chains; but having stayed at the Mercure North Grange I would rather endure distance for a hotel that is better value for money. Sorry to leave a bad review. I like to find the positives but other than the beautiful grounds the hotel is set in, there were none and I feel people should know what to expect so they can make an informed choice before booking.
Very Good
9.0Nice, comfortable and well-run hotel - good country location
− Nothing much
Good Location for Requirements
5.0Room was large enough and clean and tidy.
− Room window did not open and small fan for room was insufficient for a very hot day. Felt like a sauna overnight.
