Superb location, facilities, food and staff
10.0Great location. Lovely to sit on the terrace and enjoy the sun and views after all the skiers have left. Amazing to do the first run down on fresh snow before the lifts are open. Great food. Most importantly lovely staff and family run. The owner is the chef and Olivier produces excellent dinners and a very good breakfast selection.

A gem in Chatel. Definitely visit.
10.0We went to their restaurant l’heritage for lunch, having booked it online on their website (super easy to do). We are family of five with some older and younger children. So impressed, genuinely. On arrival you take off your ski helmets and coats are seated at a spacious warm, beautiful table. They offer two set menus one at €35 and one at €65, both menus have certain dishes that include supplements. There is also the Alcote menu as well as a child’s menu as well. We are opted for the €35 menu, but I paid a €4 supplement for the scallops to start (which were amazing!) and one child had the kids menu. Staff were genuinely so kind and lovely, the food was absolutely delicious and we’ve already agreed we’re going to book for next year. If you are going to Chatel and want somewhere to eat up the mountain would 100% recommend. Is a lovely leisurely lunch, beautiful surroundings and thank you to all the staff for being so warm and welcoming staff.
The best vacation in the last 20 years.
10.0Everything is very well done for a comfortable stay. The room has simple furnishings, but a comfortable locker and shelves. There is a place to put personal belongings. The owners of the hotel, Johanna and Sarah, create a cozy, homely atmosphere. The restaurant is above all praise. I wouldn't be surprised if the chef gets a Michelin star in a year or two. Thank you for the wonderful stay!

9.0Formidable établissement idéalement situé sur les pistes. Accueil très chaleureux avec un personnel accessible et attentionné du début à la fin (merci pour le prêt des bâtons). Mention spéciale pour le jacuzzi et le sauna extérieurs qui permettent de profiter du calme de la montagne après la fermeture du télécabine. Les repas étaient succulents et copieux. Nous conseillons et reviendrons avec grand plaisir
− A noter qu'il n'y a pas d'ascenceur et que nous étions au 3e étage (aucun souci pour nous mais il faut le savoir)
Great experience on the slopes
10.0We had lunch at the Escale the entire week and the experience was great every single day. Portions are huge and always full of taste. Kids loved the lasagne and the club - the dish of the day is also always excellent. The restaurant owners offered us some liquor based on pine code buds - delicious. I will definitively use L’escale again as a base when i will return to Chatel

Please note that the nearest car park is located in the center of the village, under the church square. There are 373 spaces. During winter season it's open 24 hours a day with someone at the office from 8:00 to 12:00 and from 14:00 to 19:00 from Monday to Friday, and from 8:00 to 20:00 on Saturday and Sunday. The rest of the time an automatic system allows you to get in and out.
