Third Time Visit and Still Loved It
10.0This was our third time at Coba and there had been a few changes but nothing that stopped us having a great time. The resort had been split in 2 so initially my kids were disappointed that we could no longer use the food truck which is now part of the adults only Tequila resort. However, on check in we had been informed that as the resort was so quiet we could use the facilities at Tulum and Akumel also ( including restaurants) so this more than made up for this. We stayed for 2 weeks so had 6 restaurant visits, all fantastic. Buffet at Coba was ok, not so much choice as before but still plenty to choose from. We had 2 rooms which were spacious, cleaned daily and mini fridge restocked daily also. Air conditioning stopped working one day but was fixed by that evening so no issues. Huge pool with lots of loungers and a big shout out to the entertainment team for all the activities and games (no pressure to join in but we took part in most). All the staff throughout the resort were fantastic, friendly and always willing to help out.
Riviera maya Mexico stunning 😍
10.0Bahia coba & complex Rivera Maya Mexico was amazing it's our second visit to the complex and we weren't disappointed Lovely well kept grounds & friendly staff everyone from gardeners to management would greet you with a good morning or asking your plans for the day , hotel entertainment staff worked incredibly hard and always took time to chat a big shout out to Hannah, johnathan & Ronaldo pool activities were fabulous we especially enjoyed the foam party so much fun 😁 We found the food in coba buffet a little mixed but sufficient enough choice however we had access to the tulum & akumal without having to upgrade which was a bonus, we found the buffet selections alot better there aswell as being turned over quicker, the al a carte restaurants around the resort are 5***** we ate at 6 of them our favourites being the Japanese teppanaky & Brazilian grill the Italian, Mexican. La gourmet French & Indian were also amazing shout out to all the waiters service was 5***** all round We had a niggle with our room AC however this was dealt with , rooms are very spacious and cleaned daily to perfection Drinks are a plenty especially the pool bar waiters who weren't shy in filling up our flasks with plenty of variety cocktails 😀 There's also easy access to the beach and staff work very hard to clear the seaweed this wasn't a problem for us personally Plenty of outside excursions available which we booked from the hotel itself the trip to holbox island was wow , and self drive jeep on island of Cozumol was cracking we enjoyed every minute ***** We had a very pleasant stay all round and will definitely return ***** Thank you the Bell Family 😀😃🙃
Fantastic Family Holiday – We'll Definitely Be Back!
8.0I have recently stayed here with my husband and our 9-year-old son. After reading some mixed reviews before we travelled, I decided to go with an open mind, and I'm so glad I did because we had a fantastic holiday. We're already looking at booking again for next year! The rooms are a little dated, but they were clean, comfortable, and had everything we needed. They come with air conditioning, which stays on even when you're out, so it was lovely returning to a cool room after a day by the pool. There was also a fridge stocked with bottled water, beer, and Pepsi. Housekeeping did a great job, cleaning the room daily and providing fresh towels. One of the highlights of our stay was the staff. Everyone was so friendly, welcoming, and always seemed happy to help. The entertainment team was brilliant, especially during the day. My son is usually quite difficult to entertain, but he got involved in so many of the activities, which meant I could actually relax by the pool! The cocktails were delicious and tasted even better while sitting at the swim-up bar. I'd also read negative comments about the food before we arrived, so I wasn't expecting much, but I was pleasantly surprised. There was always plenty of choice, and we could always find something we enjoyed. In fact, I'd say it's the best buffet we've had at an all-inclusive hotel. The beach is on the smaller side, but we much preferred spending our time around the pool, so it didn't bother us at all. There were always plenty of sun loungers available, which made for a really relaxing atmosphere. The hotel shop is quite expensive, but you can easily catch a golf buggy to the market within the resort, where prices are much more reasonable. Overall, I would highly recommend this hotel to families. We had such a wonderful time and genuinely don't understand some of the negative reviews we read beforehand. Everyone's expectations are different, but for us, this holiday exceeded them. We made some amazing memories and can't wait to return next year!
Fantastic
10.0Went for our anniversary and wife’s birthday. When we arrived to our room, they left a bottle of champagne on the table. On our anniversary the staff decorated our door with a sash and left a bottle of tequila. Buffet was decent. Mikado ( à la carte) was fantastic Portofino was absolutely delicious Swim up bar was busy but never waited more than 5 minutes to get drinks which were great We will most definitely return
Great facilities, great service but poor quality food and drink
6.0First the positives. The rooms are spacious, very clean and lovely to come back to after a hot day. The ac can be left on and it's so cool to walk into. Very comfortable beds and the cleaning service is excellent. Coffee making facility is not great so if it's something you like I'd recommend bringing a travel kettle. The mini bar is limited to a couple of beers, soft drinks and water but it was sufficient for us. Service throughout the hotel is fantastic. The staff are so polite and helpful. The odd tip goes down well but is not prompted. The pool area is very spacious and clean. Not very busy so no problem getting sunnbeds etcetera which are in great supply.. Entertainment, both day and evening, is standard quality and a bit biased towards the mexican guests. Now for the negatives. The food is very poor quality. Usually cold and tasteless. If you want a fried egg or omelette for breakfast be prepared to queue for 20 minutes or more as there is one person preparing them and that person does one at a time for some inexplicable reason. Toast is on one toaster and takes a few minutes so other items on your plate are cold by the time it comes to eat. Children are not very well catered for. Most children like chips, chicken nuggets etc. but they are not always available. Drinks. Oh dear. Tasteless flat and weak beer/lager . Some of the bars serve premium spirits . Drinks have been known to run out, especially at weekends when the local guests are at the hotel for a couple of nights. Both TUI and the hotel advertised the possibility of booking 3 a la Carte restaurants per week. We managed to book 3 for the first week via the app before we got here and they were top quality, both service and food. But try as we might we couldn't book anything for the second week as it just came up unavailable. All in all, I wouldn't recommend this hotel and am disappointed with TUI from whom I expected more. Best to pay a little more and get the full 5 star experience.
