− The hotel is very old and poorly maintained. There is a lot of litter and disused items at the rear of the property. There are many stairs and torturous routes to the bedrooms. The staff are unfriendly. The breakfast is of poor quality.
Disappointed with the distance to the bedrooms which exhausted us as there was no offer of help with luggage. And as for
2.0− We had to take our luggage a long way to our rooms. Up stairs, down stairs along corridors with stairs again. As the 4 of us are elderly there was no help of a porter etc. The bathrooms were old, no walk in showers only showers in the bath which is a hazard for elderly people. We had drinks in the hotel and there was NO ICE. A bar with no ice!! The breakfast was good and service was good. I’m afraid we won’t be staying there again because of the long and exhausting trail to the bedrooms.

9.0The central location was perfect. Staff were friendly and polite both at the reception and during breakfast at the restaurant. Breakfast was tasty, I've asked for a vegetarian version and they did have veggie sausages for full English. I don't understand why this hotel has a low rating. I guess don't expect a 4-5 star hotel. Some furniture/ equipment is old but it's good value for money and great location.

7.0Great and very helpful staff at the reception and the bar...centrally located, fully equipped rooms talking bout a royal grandeur of past times...
− Breakfast staff was way more concerned with the Bus-Tour-groups than us solo-travelling family.
