Amazing stay in corktown
10.0My stay at Trumbull and Porter Hotel was absolutely amazing. The atmosphere was stylish and welcoming, and everything felt thoughtfully put together. Andy at the front desk was incredibly kind and made check-in a breeze with his friendly attitude. On top of that, Jeremy, the GM, went above and beyond to ensure everything was perfect—his helpfulness really stood out. I’d definitely recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a great experience!
Operator not really paying attention.
6.0The design intent was good but it is not being well maintained. Everything was pretty tired, it just doesn’t seem like things are being cared for. They surprised us with a $150 “incidental” deposit on top of the room rate at check-in, but this makes no sense because there are no in-room services. The staff was civil, but not particularly friendly. The gates for the fenced parking are in rough shape, we couldn’t even get the exit gate to work and hand to go out through the entrance gate. Have definitely stayed in worse places, but a little attention is all it would take to seem like boutique hotel rather than a run down cheap hotel.
DIRTY/BUGS
2.0Genuinely do not know how this place has any good reviews aside from the staff being kind. The room smelled like weed, there was straight up weed on the desk, it was kinda dirty and had to leave in the middle of the night because there were giant roaches in the room!!! Valentines Weekend is ruined and we’ve been saving up and looking forward to this for weeks as a special treat.
Poor management experience
2.0When I arrived I was not asked for my ID or my credit card - the front desk person said he'd put my room on the card on file. A little after 10 PM, I'm reading in my bed. I hear someone fumbling with their card key outside the door, I assume it's the guest in the room next to me and maybe their key doesn't work. 5-10 minutes later, someone OPENS THE DOOR TO MY ROOM. There is no knock. I'm thankful I have the door jam in place so they can't enter my room. I ask what is happening and who is there. I am told that no one is supposed to be in this room. I ask who is there and am told it is a manager. I show her my room key and explain that this is the room assigned to me when I checked in. For the next 5-10 minutes I am basically arguing with the manager about whether I belong in the room. I give her my name multiple times, I show her my confirmation email. She finally finds me on her roster, and with a bit of a giggle asks me how my stay has been and sort of apologizes. As I check out the next morning, I see her behind the desk and she ducks (I assume to avoid interacting with me) as the other person behind the desk checks me out. I'm sure a legitimate issue stemming from my check-in experience resulted in my room not being marked as occupied and the manager was doing her duty in figuring out why there was a light on in the room. But there is definitely a better way to have gone through that discovery process, starting with knocking on the door announcing who she was rather than just opening it. Creating an unsafe environment is no way to expect a rational conversation with the person on the other side of the door. I sent a longer version of this via email right after my stay to the hotel and never received a response, even after following up a second time.
0/5 Stars
2.0My stay at this building was horrific. There were dirty fingerprints on my towels, making me question the cleanliness of the entire bathroom. I did not feel comfortable enough to shower. The main elevator was out of service. Also, the Hotel advertises a restaurant that legitimately does not exist. When I questioned the staff they seemed confused why they would have a restaurant when it is written on the wall with an arrow pointing to a specific direction. Furthermore, the front desk refuses to speak with the Priceline representative assigned regarding desiresd refund/ partial refund. Unprofessional.
