Rude employees. Old hotel
4.0We had problems with check-in and the front desk agent. They changed some rules that we did not know about and instead of her being nice about it, she was curt and rude. She also did not inform me of charges on my card, but we took care of that. We stayed last year and had a problem with you guys harassing our guests who are locals and staying with us. They had not received their wristbands yet and we're just parking their bicycles to come in the hotel and get them when the security started harassing them. They harassed them for two days about riding their bikes. Even when they were wearing their wristbands, they did not like the fact that they rode their bikes to the hotel. You guys banged on our door at midnight to drop off coffee that we didn't have because they gave us coffee for two guests, not four. Their turn down service only turned down the main bedroom no one else's beds. The turn down service only consists of turning down a corner of the master bedroom bed and closing the curtains. That was it. Also there's a lot of building deterioration and rot on our doors. We rented a two bedroom suite that cost me $1500 for two days plus food and drinks at the barand all there are all of these issues. And I don't want to complain about free things, but we had four guests in our room and they gave us one split of champagne and two glasses as our welcome drink. When we asked for an additional bottle and two glasses for our other guests, they said no and that we could share it. This was the same front desk agent that was rude to us at the beginning of our check-in. I wish I caught her name. We did their survey and asked for them to contact us and they gave us a generic message saying "sorry we address this with our team". That completely reinforced my decision to not return. Not caring about your guests is just poor business. That all being said, the Barr stuff was amazing, all the bartenders make great drinks and are very friendly! The bar food was delicious as well. We've stayed two years in a row, and we will not be coming back. There are way too many hotels in that area to be treated poorly on all of our vacations
Nice resort, room remodeling needed
8.0Overall nice resort. Restaurants on property make it convenient. Pool was very nice. Small beach was clean. Bathrooms in the rooms desperately need updating! Old, many have old tubs with small shower curtains that don't fit (and that was in the expensive suite!) Be careful to carefully check your bill at checkin and checkout. Quotes seem to list "1 adult in the room" and then they want to charge you for an additional adult at check in ($30/additional adult per day!) Also, we were double charged for drinks at the pool bar. If you choose to pay for your drink at the pool bar directly...be careful that it doesn't also still show up as a charge on your final bill. Lastly, the perk of paying an additional $20/day for a $50 breakfast credit at Gus's Grill is nice...the food is delicious....HOWEVER, make sure you understand that taxes on that food and tips cannot be covered by that $50 credit. It only covers the food, the taxes and tips will show up on your final checkout bill later - even if you didn't use the entire $50 on food purchases! So if you add this perk....make sure you eat/drink $50 worth of food because they will not let you use the balance on the food tax or tips. Misleading.
Beautiful resort
10.0Such a great experience here. The staff was very nice, the room was clean, the bed was comfy and the air conditioner worked amazing. The view was beautiful, we were on the 4th floor and it was very quiet. We had no problem getting a seat by the pool or bay, but we went during the week. We had lunch and drinks at the poolside bar and everything was great.
Incredible staff!
10.0We look forward to every stay at The Reefhouse! Try front desk staff is welcoming and remembers us trip after trip! The housekeeping team is incredible as is the entire pool deck staff - from Carlos at the pool bar to the team taking care of every guest need from towel service to food, we always love our time spent on this property.
Our July 4th stay
10.0My wife and I stayed at Reefhouse for 4th of July weekend and bottom line is... we will be back! Our experience began well before we stepped foot on property. Vanessa helped us book our stay months in advance so we had a slip to keep our boat at as well as an amazing hotel room that not only faced the bay but kept an eye on our boat as well. While on property the whole staff were very welcoming and helpful with everything we needed. I'd like to give a specific shout out to Steve and Jorge for all their help with our boating needs and again Vanessa for her help getting us booked and settled at the resort. The pool, bars, and restaurants were wonderful, nothing was disappointing at all, rooms were very clean and spacious and aside from normal July 4th activities the resort was very quiet and relaxing. The marina was quaint and plenty of room to maneuver our boat. The private boat ramp was okay, but I do recommend the resort to put in some work to remove the curb leading up to the ramp so people with longer trailers can use it easier. Caribbean Club is right next door though so we were able to use that to retrieve our vessel. Overall though we loved Reefhouse and we will be returning again in the very near future.
A very good resort
10.0Service was great , beach area is not great for swimming but the staff pool area and food was excellent
