Best Western Plus Downtown Tacoma♡

A1 location, underwhelming experience

Great location right near the Tacoma Dome which was why we were in town. Breakfast was included with our stay which is always helpful.

− We arrived to check in on the day of our event at the Tacoma Dome. Understandably the event on created significant additional traffic around the hotel. Unfortunately though, it seemed like the hotel was completely unprepared. There was one staff member at the desk doing her best to answer calls and check people in but the wait was significant. Traffic control in the hotel drop off and carport area was non existent leading to chaos. The staff member manning the door of the hotels included parking told us to try to park underneath. We were very hesitant due to the very low height of the carpark leading to the roller door coming down on the bonnet of our hire car as we were unable to move due to the queue of people lining up behind us and right through the check in drop off area. This led to us being abused by another person upset about waiting in the queue of traffic. The hotel is tired but attempts have been made to refresh the decor. Our bathroom door made an awful loud creaking noise which wouldn't be a problem as much if it didn't have to opened and closed to be able to physically get to the shower and toilet due to the size of the bathroom. The plug of our bath had to be propped open with a bar of soap to stay open. Again the next morning, despite having a hotel full of concert goers from the night before it seemed that the hotel was unprepared for the influx for breakfast leading to significant lines. The kitchen staff worked hard to try and keep food items topped up but understandably they kept running out leading to further delays. The hotel provided a comfortable and clean bed for us to stay the night after our concert however I would only stay there again for proximity to the Tacoma Dome understanding the trade off is it is overpriced and underwhelming.

− Bathroom sink would not drain and homeless outside the hotel.

Someone went into my room and robbed me while I was gone. Guy at the front desk didn’t refund me.

Great stay, disappointing parking policy.

It was walking distance to downtown.

− Very disappointed. We stayed for two nights, but were charged for parking on one of those nights simply because there was a concert nearby. As paying hotel guests, parking should be included regardless of outside events. It feels unfair to charge your guests extra because of something happening in the area.

Your breakfast set up was the best of my 10 day trip. The location was convenient to the America's Car Museum. And just around the corner from the Almond Roca factory.

− Elevator was not working from garage to lobby.
