10.0Oh my days…. What a treat!! What an amazing house…. So respectfully brought back to life. The room was so comfortable, towels and bedding fluffy and clean! Wish we could have stayed longer, but what a night! James was amazing - so welcoming and gave some great recommendations for local eateries & bars!!

Memorable and a grand experience- don't let the neighborhood put you off.
9.0We arrived near sunset, entering the house to find ourselves alone in this large Victorian home as if we had stepped into the past or, perhaps more aptly, a movie scene. The silence would induce a ghostly feeling in anyone, which felt rather fun to me. Admittedly, less so for my wife. Adding to that vibe of the initial walk-through was the rather dark interior, complete with the occasional taxidermied occupant. We had to use iphone flashlight to read the room nameplates but once opening the door the suite did not disappoint. We left for dinner and, upon our return, discovered the place well-lit and inviting enough to marvel at the period details so elegantly appointed throughout the entire home. The staircases were impressive, as were the room arrangements on the second floor. The landing offers a rotunda that manages to fit seven bedrooms, each of generous space and openness. It is truly a magnificent place and the stay became a memorable delight. I found the comments in the room ledger binding me to others sharing the happy impressions their similar experiences had left on them. We very soon loved it.
− To say the neighborhood does not inspire confidence would be an understatement. It doesn't warm one on arrival nor give the home the surroundings it richly deserves. The nearby dwellings have barred windows and I would venture few, if any, stroll the grounds after dark. That said, a small but vibrant trove of eateries and nice bar or two are just a minute or two drive away, We had no issues.
Beautiful setting that could be improved with more personal involvement of owner.
