A little bit of England away from home and super service

10.0

High class very British hotel with beautiful large rooms each with its own small terrace, albeit this isn’t far from a quite busy road. The service is impeccable and I had one of the best massages ever (with Arika - 80 minute Malay style). In keeping with the area’s strong affinity with tea production, the massage is preceded by a complimentary tea bath with gorgeous flowers floating in it and herbal exfoliators. Divine! Food is of a high standard but a limited menu if you are staying more than a few days. The Smokehouse, another hangover from colonial times, has a gorgeous garden, the best afternoon tea and a wide menu - we ate lunch there a few times. I recommend Jason Chin of Ferns Fronds Family & Friends as a guide for trekking - separate from the hotel. An incredibly knowledgeable naturalist and very cool guy.

A nice hotel but a little trapped in a time warp!

8.0

After a long car journey from Kuala Lumpur to Cameron Highlands we arrived at our hotel around 1:30pm. Unfortunately when we arrived there was a queue of people waiting to check in. We were asked to take a seat and wait, we decided to head across the road to the golf club to eat lunch, as recommended by our driver en-route. A fantastic recommendation, as we also ate dinner there on our 2nd night too, a good menu with tasty food with a fabulous view of the golf course. After lunch we headed back to check in just after 3pm. Fortunately the queues had gone however after the check in process we were asked to take a seat for 10 minutes as our room wasn’t ready. We were eventually taken to our room, a junior suite, at around 3:45pm. This was slightly disappointing at check-in is officially 3pm. To compensate we were invited to light the fire that evening, this came with a complimentary drink, being strawberry juice! Our room was very nice, spacious and comfortable although could probably do with a little TLC as it was showing wear around the edges. We had dinner in the restaurant that evening which was nice, food was tasty however they had run out of some basic house wines. Breakfast the next day was okay, my husband had to send his back as the fried egg was completely crucified! Not a great selection of bakery products on offer. In general the restaurant is a little staid and old fashioned, if you like listening to Frank Sinatra on permanent loop maybe it’s for you. I did visit the spa for a Malay massage and was offered a complimentary tea bath. Both were excellent experiences. Diana is an asset to the Spa Village, I felt completely relaxed after my treatments, thank you Diana! Just to note the restaurant does not open for lunch service, the only option is to take afternoon tea in the bar area. All of the staff were extremely friendly and courteous.

Happy memories can be had here

10.0

Genuinely lovely staff. The hotel is 60+ rooms and done in the colonial style, mostly suites i believe. Big comfortable 4 poster bed, darkwood floors and furniture. Bathroom and also a cloakroom which is actually nice to have. Nice Quirks , a snooker table, planters chairs, big fishpool, lighting of the fire in the library, steamboat restaurant. **You have to do the steamboat restaurant** its great fun. A 1430 walk with matti?. Its literally a walk on a pavement around the golf course and at first you think why am i doing this ? then you relax and hes quite fun telling you about who lived where etc and at the end you think, well i quite enjoyed that. It reminded me of lettice and lovage (the play) It doesnt have any gardens. The golf club opposite is a good place to eat in the evening You must wear ear plugs provided if you are at the front its a busy road though it does directly overlook the golf course. Happy memories of this gem if a hotel

Excellent service and timeless charm

10.0

My partner and I had a fantastic experience at the Jim Thompson Tea Room. We loved that everything is still as good as the old days—the ambiance, the food, and the service are all top-notch. We want to give a massive shout-out to the amazing staff, especially Ravi, Hossain, and Santhosh. Their friendly and professional service truly made our day. They looked after us so well. Highly recommended for couples looking for a classic, high-quality tea experience!

Excellent Staff and Atmosphere, Minor Noise Issue

10.0

Superb hospitality and service throughout the stay. The staff were attentive, professional, and made the experience very pleasant. The overall atmosphere of the resort is charming and relaxing. We would like to extend our compliments to all the Food & Beverage team members Hussain, Kirtan, Santosh, Ms Akhi and others. Special thanks to the F & B team members who took care of us during the stay. I regret that I couldn’t recall all their names at the moment, but my compliments to the rest of them for their excellent service. Also compliments to the Front Desk/ Reception team. Although traffic noise could be heard at times from our room. earplugs were thoughtfully provided by the bedside.

Super stay

10.0

We loved our stay here. Our room and the facilities were all beautiful and kept really well. The staff were all exceptionally friendly and helpful. We liked being able to walk from the hotel into town. Breakfast was very enjoyable with lots of interesting choices to try. We also took advantage of the Happy Hour(s) and enjoyed speaking to other guests in the evening. Thankyou!
