7.0Beautiful area, crater swimming was fun.
− Expensive, staff took forever to bring anything you needed towels ect.... they wouldn't give them to you up front then took over an hour and we had to call multiple times and remind them.
Never again
3.0− We had to wait to check in because they werent sure if our rooms were ready even though we came shortly after 4:00 p.m. which is the check in time. We rented 2 rooms, and both were hot and the air conditioner barely worked in either room. There were leftover socks left in the closet from a previous guest before us. Luckily we only stayed one night. The pool was murky.
Outdated resort rooms, broken beds, lazy front desk, minimal water pressure.
3.0Nice location
− Broken bed, bathroom outlet did not work, had to ask to several times for extra towels and to change out garbage cans.
Hotel that went downhill
2.0We have been here many times, but will not be back. Very sad that this hotel has gone so downhill. The grounds are poorly maintained with the bodies of water looking like swamps (they stink and you can smell it in the hotel rooms). The rooms are not well cleaned and bathrooms are in poor condition (standing water in our tub that was corroding the tub). The pool is freezing cold and only one hot tub was in order. The waterfall does not work and several of the walk areas had broken tiles with standing water in them. The new restaurant Jack’s was terrible and had a stomach ache all night after. The bakery is over priced and also not good. All menus on the website are not accurate. The bakery charged more for all items (prices on the board in bakery are not right either) and the staff was not helpful to assist. The golf course is very run down and needs a total overhaul. So sad because we use to love coming here but will not stay here again.
Love the town and the bike riding was wonderful. Hotel had lots of little irritations that added up
5.0The bakery on the premises was delicious as always. The room was clean and comfortable. The staff were friendly.
− It had been a few years since we stayed at Zermatt and we were really looking forward to it...especially for the waterfall hot tub. There was just lots of little things that added up to a somewhat irritating stay. For the price of the hotel, this should not be the case. The waterfall hot tub wasn't working the first day and it was cold, and the pool was especially cold. There was no longer body wash or shampoo in the pool shower room. The restaurant was out of almost all their soda except diet Dr. Pepper. The waiter for dinner was very nice but seemed extremely distracted. We had to ask for things multiple times (silverware, condiments, etc.) The restaurant was out of a few items for lunch the next day. We brought our bikes but there was no bike rack and nowhere to plug in except our room. The goats in the back that we looked forward to seeing on previous visits were no longer there. And finally, when we asked for a 1 hour late checkout, they wanted to charge $30. We had not experienced this charge in the past and you would've thought that with all the other irritations, they would have been happy to let us check out 1 hour later for free. We probably won't be staying here again but the Homestead across the way seems to be very inviting.
Good but could be so much better.
6.0The staff is so friendly. The location is great. Lots to do and great for families. The bakery is excellent!
− Overall, things just aren’t well maintained. Which is disappointing with the price. The pool was way too cold and the hot tubs were lukewarm. The ice machines were broken. The attached restaurants were average at best. The ponds around the property are gross and smell bad. If they just made a few adjustments, it would be so much better!
