Not a comfortable B&B
4.0We stayed a few nights in this B&B as we toured Sequoia and King's Canyon National Parks. We arrived at 7pm and there was a note on the front door saying that the check-in is until 6pm and to call a number to check in after that. So we called and we got the code to open the front door. I know it's easy to assume that everybody has a cellphone but that's not necessarily the case. Also, foreign visitors may not even have access to phone calls due to excessive roaming charges. So it would be nice if the B&B considered this and had a phone outside the door to use by those who may not have a phone. The inside was clean but old and dated. Our room especially, was very dated and not very comfortable. There was no TV and no mini fridge although there's a common fridge in another room for people to use. In my many years of travel to many parts of the world, this is the first place that didn't have a TV! There also wasn't many places to put things on like a table or chair. There was a clawfoot tub, 3/4 of which was surrounded by a shower curtain, which means you had to take care showering so the water doesn't go out of the part of the tub that's not covered by the shower curtain. Of course also as you shower, the shower curtain just wants to cling to you so you had to keep on fighting it and pushing it off of you. And there's not much counter to put things on that you might need to shower. The breakfasts consisted of fruit, a piece of cake/muffin and a main course. The main course one day was 2 sunny-side-up eggs on slices of zucchini plus half a piece of toast. Coffee and juice came with breakfast. There was a pool and hot tub at the property but we didn't use them. I really wanted to like this place but I also have to be fair. I just can't recommend this place mostly because I just found the room and the overall experience uncomfortable.
